  1. Thanks for taking us along! I really enjoyed following along. Have a safe trip home. 🛫
  2. It’s also required for the Greek Odyssey segment of their sailings. I am interested to see the logistics of how HAL handles this.
  3. The Voyage of the Vikings goes every July. It gets rave reviews and is on my bucket list. Hopefully, one day. After retirement. 🫠
  4. My parents, daughter, and son-in-law are on the Boston-QC run disembarking Oct 8th. They would be most unsettled to learn they had to be off the ship at midnight in the middle of the St. Lawrence. 😂
  5. The Pinnacle Grill breakfast is only for Neptune and Pinnacle Suite passengers. Club Orange passengers have the enhanced menu in the Main Dining Room on non-Pinnacle class ships.
  6. I, too, was trying to figure out why this was “new” news since they’ve always done longer North America/return voyages…. until I realized it’s a marketing campaign. Seems to be working since there’s now a thread on it. 👍
  7. Thank you, @cruisemom42. By the time this trip is over I will have hit 10 airports with four different airlines. It did not start out this way. lol
  8. Thank you. My sister will be flying to the UK (where she lives) and I will be flying to Paris. Neither of us are flying with Ryanair, however, so we should be good. Thanks again.
  9. Thank you for your description of the process, VMax. We have transfers but are not catching a flight that day. We are going to be staying a few days. Could you please expand on “2 hours too early”? We have flown into VCE, but never out. Their website says to arrive 3 hours prior. Did you arrive 5 hours before your flight? Any tips?
  10. Did you use a debit card instead of a credit card?
  11. This link may help out: Toronto Pearson - While You are Here
  12. No, I googled the requirements for a number of lines, trying to get clarity. ALL of them state it is a requirement as a “special voyage”. So somewhere in Greece’s policies is a statement which specifies different processes for cruise ships, much like Canada does. At least with Canada, however, the information is available on the government website.
  13. I second the suggestion for a Pinnacle-class ship. (Koningsdam, Nieuw Statendam, Rotterdam) Your husband will love Music Walk. THIS LINK gives a pretty good synopsis of it. Also much more for the kids to do, including popcorn, pizza, and wings as they watch the movies under the stars.
  14. No. They eliminated that on April 1st, thank goodness.
  15. If I recall correctly, longer voyages are 14 days or more. Hopefully someone can confirm. If I find the info I will come back to confirm or amend.
  16. No, I am on the Holland America Greek Odyssey. HAL spells it out: The test needs to be proctored. (Circled) You can see where I have also underlined the type of statement which contributes to the confusion. I take things literally. When I see “embarkations” it means just that. I want to see “as a port of call” in there too. Is that too much to ask? (Don’t answer that 😂.)
  17. Yes, I am hoping the same. I can just see the people on my roll call going into a tailspin now. 😂 Also agree about the tangled web. All government and cruise line websites require highly analytical staff to review their wording and processes for clarity and continuity. It would save a lot of grief on both sides.
  18. Testing is no longer required to return to the US, nor is it required to disembark in Canada. You are good to go. 👍
  19. That “No Climbing” rock is hilarious. 😂 Also… who knew there were so many yarn shops in Halifax?!
  20. Well, I guess a new lawsuit will keep that sector of the economy rolling. And don’t get me started on the Sovereign Citizen movement. I see and hear it every day here in the Metropolitan DC area. I agree with @truckswain in that it’s a tool. I am not offended. Then, again, I cannot fathom the mindset of the freedom and liberty crowd. My husband tells me that’s a good thing. 😂
  21. Well I am glad I peeked into this thread because I have the same issue as @tottenhamfc. Departing from Rome and visiting Greece. Greece’s government website says: However, ALL cruise lines state they require testing but refer only to “Greece Embarkations” and nothing about visiting Greece within the itinerary. Super frustrating. The link the OP provided led me to clarity: we require testing. My roll call insists we don’t require testing so maybe I can get a nice upgrade onboard when those people are denied boarding. 😂
  22. Are they still providing the paper Customs form to be handed in onboard the ship? Maybe that’s where the confusion is coming from.
