We are new to river cruising. We will be sailing down the Rhine in November 2025 on Ama Waterways. We are doing it for the Christmas Markets. I have celiac disease, and we concluded that it would be easier for me to cruise rather than a land-based trip. We were told by a friend that it is better to go with a group of friends. Since there isn't much to do in the evenings on the ship, a group can make their own fun. 😃 Any information or tips from experienced river cruisers is welcome. I'm sure I have questions, I'm just not sure what they are yet. 😃

We are taking our first river cruise in 2025. We have heard from friends that you need to go with a group of friends because you need to make your own fun in the evenings. So that is what we are doing. Sorry didn't mean to hijack this thread.

@Georgia_Peaches I googled the Ward Dock June Schedule, and there are no ships scheduled to dock at Ward Cove on June 2nd. So it looks like all 4 ships will be at the downtown piers that day.

I was thinking the same thing. Either a heating pad or a hot water bottle. It's "old school", but sometimes old school is what it takes.

Don't yuck our yum. 😉 Some of us like "Creamy Coffee" or "Candy Coffee" 😂 @ScottC4746 I'm really not stalking your posts on purpose, but since we are on the same sailing, you are asking good questions. You are a treasure trove of information. 😃 You can get a box of individual cups of liquid creamer that don't have to be refrigerated. It will probably be more expensive than a bottle of the same thing though. There is a Target Grocery a few blocks (15 Min walk) from the Marriott. It could be a good one-stop shop for creamer, wine, and any other items to take on-board.

We will be sailing the Edge at the end of May. We are in a Magic Carpet SS. We originally got a very good price, and then 6 months later, saved another $3K. This may be our 1st and last time in "The Retreat" because they seem to be charging stupid expensive prices and then removing services. I can get a similar service experience that we want in Concierge Class. We shall see if the lounge and Luminae are worth it. I really love love love the S Class ships. I love the M class as well, but they are getting older now. S class will probably be our first choice from now on. I think on E class the IV cabins will be great in cooler/wetter climate areas like Alaska. But it isn't a balcony, it is an Oceanview window that opens.

We love Cellar Masters on Reflection. I am really sad that there won't be any space like that on the Edge.

Either is fine, but I prefer my laptop. When we sailed last December, I did check-in my MIL and FIL. I logged myself out, and then logged in with my FIL email and password. They did get the same check-in time that we did. Our BIL & SIL were also linked to our reservation, They got a different check in time, but they were able to check in with us at the earlier time.
