  1. Hi - That's an interesting choice for your first cruise! 🙂 Feel free to ask whatever, that's how I learned. There is quite a lot of information on this forum from just moving up and down the list of topics, but there is a search button up top of the page that you can use for just PG here, or sitewide for more general stuff, or destinations. We brought back more than 900 pictures, and we're just amateurs with an underwater camera. I'm sure you'll have lots of material to work with! I hope you have a great time! 🧜🏻‍♀️
  2. Hi there! No actual need to do this, just as long as you get off the boat by 10:30. We had breakfast reservations at 9:00 a.m. for The Wake, made it back to our cabin to grab our suitcases at 10:15, and proceeded out the gangway line 🙂
  3. 🙂 Hi! They mention to pick up towels because not everyone is going to the Beach Club, some are perhaps on private excursions, the tram drops off at various places 🧜🏻‍♀️ Thanks for sharing your vacation time!
  4. I hope the Windstar is fantastic for you Medic 🙂 but your issues have more to do with your very idiosyncratic stand as someone who has gone on that ship and those itineraries 8 times now. Very few cruisers here are coming from the same place as you. I'm glad you have found a way to save money and still get down there. I did what I could to try and get you that referral money from Ponant last year, perhaps that would have sweetened the deal for you, but I suspect you knew my work was in vain. I'm sorry you feel the way you do. We had Petit fours every night in June, and as far as we're concerned, we don't spend enough time in the room to care about flowers or fruit, especially when there is so much lush scenery around, I sip coffee on my actual balcony, and I could care less about meeting the Captain, ever. Perhaps it's generational, but these things are so low on my priorities they don't register 💁🏻‍♀️
  5. Maybe I see things differently 🤷🏻‍♀️ but I'm not going to let parent company Ponant's response to a once in 100-year global catastrophe color everything that they do going forward. I'm sure if I had lost money I would feel differently, but that's not my situation, and that's why I buy really good trip insurance. I travel a lot , and I had trips that were planned and canceled during the pandemic where I had to advocate for myself in order to get refunds from airlines, hotels, and tours, everyone was in the same boat and no one knew how the world would change on the other side of this giant dilemma. I'm sure there are lots of enterprises out there who would like a do-over. But, if the product that they are selling me now is solid and I feel like they are responsible partners, I'm was willing to take that risk and I'm glad I did. This was the vacation of a lifetime on PG, and I only hope others can have the same experience. If we can go back sometime soon, and will be on Paul Gauguin 🧜🏻‍♀️ We sailed in June of 2023 - I don't think the itineraries are out for 2034 yet 😉
  6. I missed the sail away party because I had some bad food in Miami the night before, so was surprised by such a beautiful sight on my balcony 🌃 wish I was back onboard! Hope you are well!
  7. Description from the menu: Orange Blossom & Blackberry Sangria - house sangria, made with fizzy moscato and dripping with blackberries and citrus 😍
  8. Love The Dock House ❤️ the sangria 😍
  9. So color coordinated! 😍 Have seen Alejandro's videos 🙂 Thanks for taking us along!
  10. Have fun girl! Wish I was getting onboard, nursing an ear infection, thanks for sharing 🙂 stay hydrated! Getting there sounded complicated, hope it's all easy now that the heavy lifting is done 💪🏻
  11. How's the mosquitoes outside of San Juan? 🤦🏻‍♀️ They seem to find me wherever go 🦟
  12. Always do my own flights ✈️ this time went on frequent flyer miles to PPT, and right now United Airlines is having a rewards mile sale on Tahiti, New Zealand and Australia for 75,000 miles round trip. Less than Europe.
  13. Hope you have a great time! 🥂🍾 5 days to go! Hell yes! 🏴‍☠️
  14. There is also 24/7 room service, good selections, had a nice grilled chicken club sandwich and fries (excellent) when we got back late from an excursion. There are complimentary drinks (beer, water, soda) in your cabin fridge that get restocked with your choices if you let your room steward know. We loved the Hilton, newly done over and beautiful, view of Moorea in the distance. If your flight is coming in early morning, you can hang by the pool and they will hold your luggage until your room is ready. There is a big lounge with showers you can use to freshen up or change clothes, and you can hang on your final day after checking out, too. Pedestrian bridge to mall across the street with shops and a Carrefour, similar to Walmart. Ran over there to the coffee shop for breakfast instead of hotel. Hilton Tahiti https://www.hilton.com/en/hotels/ppthihh-hilton-hotel-tahiti/ Pacific Plaza https://maps.app.goo.gl/pgzWqDbcLg4zmugy8 https://www.facebook.com/carrefourpolynesie We rented a car and hung out at a local beach about 20 minutes away Plage Vaiava https://maps.app.goo.gl/YndQuLee6Sm4Qm8j6
  15. This is true about it coming out of a box, in December, I asked if they could leave out the mango juice in a 3 juice concoction, and they said no and showed me the box 🤐
  16. Hi! 🙂 What is the cabin difference between Balcony D and C besides the deck number? We were just on last June and stayed in a D balcony, I'm pretty sure the only difference is the deck number. Is any of the ship's entertainment more than just a piano or Polynesian music/dancing? Yes, there was a house band with an excellent singer, they did a tribute to divas and I remember, she really knocked it out of the park doing some songs of Tina Turner, who we had just lost. How do you RSVP for dinner at the La Grill? Can you be seated at a 2 Top table? 2 tops for dinner no problem. I will attach the weekly activity schedules from my voyage and you can get a feel for things, and info about rsvp's, etc PaulGauguinSocietyIslands6-10-23.pdf How and where do you sign up for excursions? Call Paul Gauguin directly 1 (800) 848-6172 https://www.pgcruises.com/shore-excursions Are the pre-cruise "day rooms" a good idea with the cruise line or with individual hotels? Day rooms can be had at a much lesser cost booking on your own, if you are comfortable with that. With all the airline's delays, I would not cut it so close as to arrive the day you embark, but that's me. We bookended the trip with a couple days at the Hilton in Tahiti to adapt to the time change so as not to waste time on board getting in sync, and another day at the end as a buffer before heading back to reality, lol
