  1. Hey there Tom & Sandra! 🙂 Is that a new profile pic 📸? Hope you had a great time!
  2. la Orana! 😊 So jealous! You are going soon? I can't wait to go back, hopefully next year 🧜🏻‍♀️ The vibe on board is chill and friendly, no problem with t-shirts and shorts for breakfast or lunch. Servers are super nice and remember your preferences. The food was excellent. Different wines from different places are served each night, then there is the wine list which we never felt we needed. I would say there is a normal USA selection of beers, the Hinano is very good and we brought home some of their souvenir glasses. We never had any trouble getting on early tenders, they have a large capacity (120+ and there are only 330 guests on board) and are able to move a lot of people at a time, that said, ymmv 😉 The mini fridge is stocked when you get there, but if you let your room attendant know what you like or dislike, they can customize it to your needs. There are not a lot of electrical outlets in the room, so if you bring European adapters you can grab a couple extra outlets, and a simple extension cord might be helpful because the placement of the outlets are not optimal. I brought magnetic hooks for the walls to hang stuff, there is a small clothes line in the bathtub, we were three in the room and space was at a premium. Once you get on board and go through registration, if you're interested, head over to the marina, get your snorkel and fins which you will hang on to for your entire cruise, and take with you on excursions if you need them. I hope you have a wonderful time!
  3. With regards to booking brunch, that was not my experience 🙂 I was able to book brunch at The Wake at 9am on disembarkation day ahead of time with all my other reservations on the app at the 45 day mark with no issues. Also, if I had to choose where to eat on a 4 day, for dinner, The Wake and Gunbae would not be high on my list of priorities.
  4. Sorry to hear, one of the things you guys were looking forward to so much 😖
  5. I hope it's not because too many people are sick 😕 that would blow
  6. Not a fan of the low wooden seating at The Dock, which is one of my favorite spots 🙂
  7. I love bacon, but it was too peppery for me as well, especially in the morning 🌄
  8. Not unheard of, if you have remaining bar tab, you can always splash out with a nice bottle of bubbles to share with your new found friends at the bar on your final evening - guilty lightweight here, lol 🙋🏻‍♀️ 🥂🍾 Thanks for taking us along!
  9. Panama Canal sounds awesome, always wanted to do full passage through 🙂
  10. I was able to make reservations for The Wake on debarkation day for 9am when I made all my other reservations 45 days out with no problem.
  11. There is a huge amount of information on TripAdvisor South Pacific boards here as well https://www.tripadvisor.com/ListForums-g8-i119-South_Pacific.html
  12. We also upgraded for the same price (8 day) but had told my TA we were interested in a balcony upgrade if any deals came along. Last minute, booked 5 weeks out, 2 weeks later she came back with the opportunity to upgrade, I was so relieved 🙂 would have been my first time without a balcony and so glad to have had it, the views are fantastic and you feel part of it when you're out there 🌊
  13. The snorkel trip was so beautiful, but I was pretty physically and mentally wiped, just wanted to shower and have an easy meal, so ymmv. I guess it depends on how physically fit you are, and how fresh you would like to be for your night out? I chose the afternoon because we had early morning excursions all week, and wanted a day to sleep in - he dropped us off last, as the sun was setting, very pretty. The mornings are suppose to be better at finding the manta rays, they hang out by the channel, we swam over, visibility was a bit low and they were nowhere to be found, no problem for us, we had seen so much and got to track the eagle rays, see below. If you are in touch with Aimee at h2o, please tell her the lady with the beans says hello 🙂
  14. I was more curious what they wanted to know than that $50 will sway me, lol, I never take surveys or give reviews. Just interested in what direction they may be headed in. I have no cruises on the horizons, just land based stuff for now.
  15. Hi everybody 🙂 This came in my email a couple days ago, $50 additional bar tab for filling out the survey. Not as lucrative as the previous one I heard about here, iirc $200? IIRC, questions were like - Prioritize the order I like to book through - airlines, direct with cruise line, TA, expedia, web based cruise sellers? Would I pay a amenities fee for certain services? What is more enticing, $1000 discount on the booking price or $1000 OBC? What inclusions would get me to purchase - gratuities, internet upgrades, priority embarkation Advance booking for the best price if there was a low price guarantee At booking, choosing my cabin vs auto assign vs guarantee, or after, at embarkation. The price I would pay for flexibility in booking, canceling, changing names, moving around a reservation 100% PIF vs 20% down Sea Terrace vs Sea Terrace XL vs a 200 sq ft (Panorama?) cabin pricing Importance of cabin location and cabin amenities, balcony views What types of cabin bundling options (of the above questions) would I choose, and at what price point The costs of the bundles were all over the place, they assumed Sea Terrace, XL, or 200 sq ft - 2 sailors, 7 days, Caribbean itinerary, money was from ~ $3k to $11k+ iirc We want to hear from you, Sailor. We know how valuable your vacation time is, so we would like to thank you for your interest in sailing the world The Virgin Way. And as we continue to explore the high seas — from the sun-kissed shores of the Caribbean to sensational destinations in the Mediterranean — we'd love it if you could fill out this survey to help us better understand what’s important to you. It will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. As a thank you, we will send you $50 in Bar Tab credit to use on any future voyage booked after April 15th, (New bookings only). Your credit will be shared in the coming weeks via access key for surveys completed in full, and this access key is only redeemable online during the booking process. We encourage you to respond quickly, as this survey will only be available for a limited time— so make sure to complete it in one sitting. And rest assured, your answers will be kept completely confidential. This link is unique, it can only be used once and will only give one credit per Sailor. As a potential future Sailor, your input is incredibly valuable. Would you be willing to help us out?
  16. It's per cabin - wish I could 🙂 Starting at $9990 per cabin — yes, that’s a 30% savings value — you and a sailing mate can enjoy four weeks at sea in our iconic Central Sea Terrace cabins from June through September. For a month’s long stay, we’ll provide the comforts of home — Premium Wi-Fi, a $10 daily coffee credit per cabin, Wash & Fold laundry service — as well as prepare you for the thrills of the unknown — early access to book dining and Shore Things, onboard RockStar support, access to Richard’s rooftop, and a complimentary bottle of bubbly to welcome you aboard
  17. Wow! New Zealand looks fantastic and hope that is part our next trip to the South Pacific. Hope to get back onboard the Paul Gauguin again while we are down there, we really had a blast. Fiji 😍 you are going to have a great time!
  18. For 7002 Both beautiful - have fun! We celebrated a big anniversary as well, they do a vow renewal (pay) and a marriage blessing ceremony (free but with other couples) hope that helps! 🧜🏻‍♀️
  19. Hi 🙂 Haven't stayed in those but found some pics and floor layout for both Floorplans and pics for 701
  20. Wow that's a great itinerary 🙂
  21. Hi 🙂 It's the Marina next door - I would choose 437 if possible just for the buffer. Which itinerary?
  22. I'm so sorry this happened to you, and for the second time 😑 Are you able to go in a different month, because, as pappy1022 said, it's the rainy/humid season? I was looking at May through August as the dry side of the calendar, we went in June of last year and only had 1 day with rain, the rest was lovely 🏝 There is not a lot of throughput in this forum compared with others, please ask away and someone will help 🙂
