  1. They used to be allowed and I used a set with my elderly parents back in 2009. They were quite useful. However, they have since been banned.
  2. Last November, in QG, it was just a HALF bottle of PA, thankfully.
  3. Not sure if the "artist's impression" is entirely correct. Seems to look like a town council recreation hall.
  4. Last November, the way disembarkation worked was new for us. QG labels were blue. We were given 8:10am disembarkation. As we approached the gangway, they checked that we had blue receipt tags. In the luggage hall, they were still unloading and sorting. These areas were cordoned off and we were directed to the far end where all the "blues" were and the only area not cordoned off. Presumably, the PG's would follow after they ensured all the luggage was off loaded.
  5. Corkage fee changed a couple of years ago. What's the "Captain's Club"?
  6. We travel on QE and QV to the Canaries regularly. Always in QG. Always November/December. Can't say I find the prices any lower than on other trips. On release, there are usually decent prices, if you're quick, but they rise pretty quickly. We enjoy leaving the lousy UK winter weather and enjoy the warmth and sunshine. Last November we had a Q3 on Deck 8. This year we have a Q3 suite at the stern of QA, as we also do the following year. Although, I must admit, I'm just a wee bit apprehensive because it's an unknown, so fingers crossed! Stewart
  7. Escape to the Country presenter, plus other progs.
  8. On our last two Madeira and Canaries trips, there were 6 customs officers waiting to pounce. Nicky Chapman (TV personality) was stopped and had to empty her luggage.
  9. Last year, they made a big fuss of English National Ballet performing. We went once. There were only 6 of them. Bit of a damp squib as far as I was concerned, although others raved.
  10. Hi We've been using https://www.tmrchauffeurs.co.uk/pricing.html for years.. They show the price to be £160 for a limo.
  11. We've had Q3's, Q4's, Q5's and Q6's. We take 2 very large cases, one suit bag type, and 2 carry ons. Never had a storage problem. Don't understand what's wrong with under the bed?
  12. It can be either. Best do a dummy booking and see.
  13. Rooms are always ready when you board. THere is no muster station lecture any more. You only have to attend the muster station area where a crew member swipes your card to confirm you know where it is. You are then expected to watch the safety briefing (animated) in your room. Stewart
  14. I'll "Big Mag" you! 😊
  15. Firstly, in the Lido, you have to find a sommelier. There's usually one floating around somewhere, but it can take a while to organise. There's a limited listing in the GLP.
  16. QG and PG ave their own dedicated galley which used to have 14 chefs. Also, in QG there is the ability to go off menu as we do regularly and often have dishes which are not listed anywhere.
  17. There are umpteen posts on this site regarding dress code. Here's a recent one: https://boards.cruisecritic.co.uk/topic/2978838-dress-code-and-themes/ Remember, the code is a MINIMUM standard not the target. Many pax will dress to a much higher standard, e.g. jackets and ties every night, especially in the Grills.
  18. All QG rooms have both bath and shower. There are no curtains. Your restaurant table is yours for the duration of your trip for all meals.
  19. Had QG on Deck 8 stern at least a dozen times. Never had a problem. Never heard "churn of water". You do hear the stewards put out the loungers around 7:00am, but as we're early risers, it doesn't bother us.
  20. All "Hotel" staff, including officers, share the gratuities.
  21. We disembarked on 6 December. No problems whatsoever for our 12 days, except too short.
  22. Do you really mean a Q4? P4 is Princess Grill. In QG, normally a cake is given on your birthday, without asking. Can't speak for any other restaurant, sorry.
  23. Last night on QV was a Gala Night. I spotted one man in the Grills lounge wearing Chinos, a checked open shirt and no jacket. In the good old days, they would have been denied service.
