Did you have travel insurance for your cruise? If so, it may cover your airfare expense, I know the insurance we buy would have covered us in this scenario. But would you have really wanted to be on a cruise with the shortened port stops that were previously announced? Now that Celebrity has canceled the cruise you may have better options than before.

I read in a post on another Social Media site that RCL and Celebrity have dropped Covid Testing on B2B cruises and that the quarantine cabins are being moved from OV on lower decks to balcony cabins on a higher deck for future cruises. Some who canceled over these issues may have canceled too early, if this in fact is the case.

That is good news, RCL also canceled yesterday. Just a week late for Jim and Iain. I did see a post yesterday on FB that possibly Celebrity will be changing future quarantine cabins to the 6th decks with balconies. I hope this goes into effect by our cruise in August,

Our SS on the Edge in Jan and Feb 2024 for NZ and Australia has not changed from when we booked in January.

Your prices are about what we are paying with Bob's Limos in August. We have 4 in our party and the fare from the Cruise terminal to the Termini train station in Rome is $168 total. We are then taking the express train to Florence from there. The fare we booked from FCO to our hotel pre cruise in Rome for all 4 of us is $76. We didn't want to get to the Civi train station from the ship and then change trains in Rome for Florence and schlep our luggage twice. Yes you are right everyone needs to do what is beat for them. We used Bob's in 2018 and were very happy with the service but there are many other public and private transports available in Rome, FCO and Civi.

Can the cleaning of the hull be done in the cold waters of Alaska or Canada?

Curious why of all the Celebrity fleet that sat at anchor for almost 2 years, only the Eclipse seems to have been infected with barnacles? She is supposed to sail to the South Pacific and Australia in the fall, so when will Celebrity dry dock her and address the issues?

Has anyone been in SS #11197 or 11196 on the Edge or Apex? These are the first SS on the bump out midship on deck 11 and I was wondering if the forward view is better than the cabins that follow these? We are booked in 11197 next year on the Apex and 11196 in 2024 on the Edge. I have looked online at cabin pictures but nothing about the views from the balcony for these two cabins. TIA. Terry
