Do They Serve Alcohol in the Explorations Cafe/Crow's Nest?
twodjs replied to Denverbri69's topic in Holland America Line
I didn't want to share too much...depends on the season, but that is part of the extra service for cabana guests. I believe you book the cabanas for the entire voyage through guest services. If any are still available during the cruise, you can book by the day. -
We leave on Saturday for Alaska, round trip from Seattle on the Eurodam. Be sure to bring warm clothes and prepare for rain. Do search out the Neptune Lounge shortly after you board. The two suite hosts there are amazing and can help with any questions you have, and usually host a welcome reception the first evening for all suite guests in the lounge.

Do They Serve Alcohol in the Explorations Cafe/Crow's Nest?

You are in for a treat! Not only is there a retreat staff dedicated to bringing you any beverage you desire, they can provide breakfast, lunch and surprises throughout your stay. So relaxing...we've enjoyed cabana stays on several cruises! -
Thanks for checking. That's very interesting...

Your best bet is to contact HAL directly. The easing of vax requirements is not the same for passengers on any cruise ship going to Alaska, even if you don't plan to get off. I would agree with Ferry-Watcher. Without the vax, looks like you can't board - but do contact HAL to confirm. HAL must follow the rules of Canada becauce the ship enters Canadian waters.

People from other parts of the world just roll their eyes when they run into (mainly) Americans who don't understand that you are trying to eliminate toxins, not concentrate them by wearing sweaty gym clothes or underwear. Sitting on or loosely wrapped in a towel is so much healthier and a lot more freeing...no harm in giving it a try!

But they are shown as an available booking option with a $3000 to $3800 per person upcharge.

For those who have cruised on Venture and stayed in the Penthouse Spa Suite or one of the Veranda Spa Suites, was the upcharge worth it? Please share thoughts on your experience.

That conflicts with the official Canadian documents listed above updated August 16th. Clearly, no test to enter Canada if fully vaxed, but the test IS required prior to getting on the ship. I wouldn't wait until you're in line to board before finding out!

Has anyone been on the Koningsdam recently? Is the men's sauna functioning? I'm asking because last Thanksgiving both single-sex free saunas with the big windows were closed the entire cruise because of a broken part. Doing that Mexico cruise again this Thanksgiving, so want to be sure it's available.

We've used them several times - easy to use and no last minute panic. Just be sure that a proctored test is acceptable.

We had that same question. Looked it up on their website. It said Saga is exclusively for those over 50, but you can travel with a companion who is 40 or over. The ships look beautiful, but are curious... from those who have traveled on Saga before...what's the vibe like? Evening activities? Other experiences...

I was confused about the topic too, because I only knew of two adults only lines, Virgin and Viking. Each with a VERY different focus. Saga is new to me. Don't know where it fits compared to the others. Thoughts...?
