Well, my claim was denied:
Response By Email (01/14/2020 03:26 PM)Hello Jennifer,Thank you for submitting a Shore Excursions Best Price Guarantee claim. We regret to inform you that your claim was not accepted because the tour submitted was not similar to the tour on our program.Specifically, the provided tour does not include transportation from the cruise port to the ferry pier or back.Thank you for choosing Carnival Cruise Line. We are confident our Shore Excursions offer the most inclusions and the best overall value.ScottCarnival Cruise Line | 3655 NW 87th Avenue | Miami, FL 33178You can try again and match to this instead which mentions transportation. It's a $10 difference vs Carnival

Really? This is interesting because@Mutumbojimbo just got turned down. Maybe it still depends on who processes your request. $22 sounds right because mine was $32 and it looks like they lowered the price $10 since then.
Wondering if that is a 1 person department.
All responses I got were from Scott

I am still waiting to hear about mine. No word yet.
For what it's worth, it took 11 days to get a final answer on my last submission. Only took a day on the one before that.

Maybe they deducted for difference?
Carnival excursion says 7-8 hrs. The other one is 5-6. Was there an explanation?
My first request I got 110% price match.
Today, I got a response about my 2nd excursion price match. They are saying " We wanted to send you a quick note to let you know that we have submitted your request for additional review as the excursions do not match exactly. We will do a bit of additional research and let you know if we can approve the claim within a few days."
To me it looks identical, maybe I am missing something?
Carnival: $69.99
Independent: $35

Update:
My request got approved. I got $38.49 per person OBC.

I had one last June on the Dream, and I thought they were the BEST free burger I've ever tasted in my LIFE! I loved the bread. I cannot remember tasting hamburger bread that good. I don't think I've ever heard of a steakhouse burger.....like in a steakhouse, where steaks are their specialty?.....really??? You must not be from around here. Sorry.
Steakhouse burger is just a type - made with steak. It can be made and sold anywhere, not just steakhouse. McDonald's can make and sell a steakhouse burger

Agree with OP. It's just hype. Otherwise just another mass-produced chain restaurant burger
*My opinion

Yes, that would be interesting as the 110% OBC would basically mean the poster would be getting the excursion at 1/2 price. Do they really match?
Same situation here that I'm waiting on. Price matching $69 to $35. See my earlier post. The excursions look identical but so far the response I got was that they are reviewing it further. That was 4 days ago. Haven't heard back.

So that would be price matching this one:
with this one?
https://www.shoreexcursioneer.com/cabo-san-lucas/whale-watching-breakfast-open-bar.html
And I'm guessing you got about $16.50 pp in OBC?
$16.50 is exactly what I got per pp price matching those 2

I had success for Cozumel excursion Amazing Secret River. $104.99.pp and found it for $95.00pp. Received a $4.39pp OBC.
Carnival https://www.carnival.com/shore-excursions/cozumel/amazing-secret-river-304247
Viator
https://www.viator.com/tours/Cozumel/Amazing-Underworld-River/d632-22626P2
Not sure though why it was only $4.39. 110% of the price difference should be $10.99
The requirements stated :
If your claim meets these requirements, Carnival Cruise Line will issue a non-refundable onboard credit worth 110% of the price difference. An email confirming the outcome of the request will be sent to you. If you cancel your excursion, your onboard credit will also be cancelled. The onboard credit is nonrefundable, nontransferable, and has no cash value. The onboard credit must be used during the applicable cruise. Any unused portion of the onboard credit will be forfeited
Maybe they deducted for difference?

As others have mentioned, you don't really want to stay IN Hollywood close to walk of fame. Made that mistake once.
On all my trips to LA now, I stay in Glendale. Very nice area and then you can take an Uber or Lyft to Hollywood. It wasn't very expensive its relatively close (in miles - not minutes due to traffic).

The main website is up and working but the Login (account) portion is not functioning. Just tried.

Did you ever get a response? When I've done it they were pretty prompt. Like I submitted on a Friday or Saturday and had a response on Monday.
Interested to know if @zorky12 got a response yet as well.
I submitted 1 form on 12/30 and got a response on 12/31
Then I submitted another on 12/31 and no response yet.
I know there was a holiday in between so maybe they are backed up or short staffed.

Thanks all for the info

Wait a second....I purchased the second level WiFi on my last cruise. You’re telling me I would’ve been able to make outgoing calls?!?! I thought it just said social media? Is the outgoing calls to iPhone users only??
You can make calls via WiFi not cellular network. That can be done many different ways either through the stock phone app (if supported), Google Voice, Google Duo, Viber, Skype, etc.
I used my regular phone app without any issues with Cellular turned off and WiFi On. Text messages also worked via WiFi

But if I make a call out of the stateroom, how will they know which card to charge? I’m just dialing out
Don't waste your OBC on making calls out of the stateroom. Instead spend the OBC on the top tier internet plan and use Wi-Fi calling from your phone.
-
I am 1 for 1 so far. Submitted the form this week and within 24 hours got an approval and 33 OBC
Just submitted another one last night - will see what happens.
The first was only ~$15 cheaper per person
Most recent I submitted is $35 cheaper per person but appears to be identical to what Carnival is offering.

Unless something has changed, the offer won't apply to things like excursion purchases or Fun Shop purchases because those do not come across to Amex as "Carnival Cruise Reservations" charges.
When you purchase an excursion online with a credit card, the charge comes through as "CARNIVAL CRUISE LINEMIAMI FL"
Have you tried this and it didn't work for you? I was able to activate the offer purchasing excursions and other things like WiFi prior to sailing.

Should be OK. Galveston is my home port and my wife and I carry our luggage off the ship and leave as soon they clear. We are usually in our car at like 8 am. It will probably take an hour to drive to Bush Intercontinental.
If you can get a flight out of Hobby, it's much closer.

So what is the incentive?
Is something provided beyond what you can get yourself by going to carnival.com and booking at anytime?

However the OP has already said they DO NOT want to cary their phone with them
I read it as they don't like to carry the phone.
To me that's different than don't want to but anyways...
I second the HUB app suggestion no matter the stance on using a device to run that app.

Carnival just approved the excursion lowest price guarantee for this vs the one that's nearly the same from Shoreexcursioneer.com
Getting $33 OBC total for 2 people
-
The itinerary shows that it departs at 7 PM on day 1 and then comes back in AM of day 2
There is also this old article from 2009 talking about the same thing but another Carnival ship (not Panorama) but should be the same process
Seattle and Southwest flights
in West Coast Departures
Posted
This is me just wondering about something I noticed...
I am looking for round trip tickets from HOU to Seattle 2nd week of June on Southwest Airlines (In: Monday / Out: Tues of following week) and noticed that there are hardly any non-stop flights, prices are very high and up until May there aren't even any flights listed after ~12PM at all.
Just wondering if someone happen to know if something occurred between Southwest and Sea-Tec?
I last did this trip 4 years ago and there were many flights and they were much much cheaper. Wondering if something happened like a contract dispute, etc...but couldn't find anything in the news.
