  1. My husband got laid off and 'offered' early retirement at 53. We made it but our house and cars were paid for and we had no credit card debt.
  2. Care to give the source for your quote? Isn't that required pretty much everywhere?
  3. We were in Iceland in early December and it was warmer there then home in Seattle. And, of course, in winter it's dark SO much.
  4. Thanks for that. And I'd be pretty unhappy with the Istanbul skip. We've been there twice and would love to retract some food steps 🙂
  5. Oops. Didn't "expand" the article that would have covered that. LOL.
  6. Thanks. Now you don't have to name names but are there any cruise lines that you won't cruise on for this reason.
  7. Now are you just talking about tendering and such? I seem them regularly and think they're just brilliant. Going to the dining room, a show, etc.
  8. I know a woman who works there in season. I only meant ports in Antarctica. That's where we boarded.
  9. In sailing terms is a "port" somewhere where you anchor or 'tie up' (what's that term?) not far away. Close enough to tender to shore. Whereas to my knowledge, not even the expedition ships can do that.
  10. And they got it after the fact. And sounds like only when they complained
  11. It didn't go into effect that day, whether Antarctic or Arctic.
  12. I'm sorry. I have no idea who I was replying to. And it's not happy hour yet 🙂
  13. Ports? To my knowledge except for the official places, there are no ports in Antarctica. The expedition ships 'land' via zodiaks.
  14. Where is the infuriated emoji when I need it? "Recent regulatory requirement" You mean that like morning. From what I've read they were first informed of this coming regulation several years ago and that it went into affect some months ago. Sheesh. I wish you the best on a future lawsuit.
  15. Oh, did some of them say they DID get emails ahead of time?
  16. Sounds like they're handling it as well as possible. Thanks.
  17. OT but I always read reviews on things like this. Really almost everything if I'm not familiar with the vendor. I even did it recently for a doctor (surgeon). 🙂
  18. That's where we got the ship after our land excursion through Patagonia. I seem to remember having a decent lunch but that's about it.
