  1. I just read on the CDC site: "A person with COVID-19 is considered infectious starting two days before they develop symptoms, or two days before the date of their positive test if they do not have symptoms,". They also noted the number of asymptomatic cases is much higher now. Not sure what is the best way to protect passengers or what a passenger should agree to give up.
  2. Out of all the cruises we have been on, we loved the NCL Breakaway the best! At that time, the Cruise Director (Julie) made it such an experience, had all the free add-ons, great sports area for the boys, etc. Have been on the BLISS and no way in comparison. On RCL Anthem and didn't like it too much. Carnival, people were very rude on that one! Since my boys are a bit older, I asked THEM what they wanted in a SHIP and 'good sushi' was there number one. Your really need to determine what's important to YOU and YOURS to really answer your question as to some of the Diamond-Plus elites, its service, to the commoners (myself included) it was the entertainment (as a hamburger and fries pleases me), to my wife (easy on and off and italian). I don't choose for location destination but for the ship. My wife says I am crazy
  3. I guess for me is that term 'REPORTED'. Since at home tests are so prevalent, and since so many people do NOT report results... how accurate are the numbers? Plus, there was a poster on that other site of a person who felt they had COVID on Carnival (and they did) but said there was no way he would let the Ship know since he was vaccinated and the symptoms were mild (I think his comment was "I'll be damned if I am staying in my room and eating tuna sandwiches, I am on vacation". Yes this is very self-centered but considering the cost of cruises for most... probably not uncommon!
  4. Meaning, my understanding from the CDC notice... each State is REQUIRED now to report and have a central data repository, or access thereof, of vaccinated individuals. NJ Docket has access. If the Vaccine Card is not backed in any way... hell Photoshop would be the new norm.
  5. Still WANT the hardcopy Dailies as I usually note (yellow highlighter) what I might be interested in. I was an IT Director, so yes this might be 'low-tech' but I find it easier than moving up and down in the ap or that incredibly slow TV scrolling. If its not on my bed.... I will ask the cabin steward or 'worse case scenario' go to the always crowded Guest Relations!
  6. That's a VERY good point I have not heard before! I know there trying but there are sooooo many ways people are 'bypassing' valid tests that it is reminding me of the initial 'xerox copies' of the vaccine cards (until they were backed digitally).
  7. Our 8/5 sailing is visiting Labadee (Haiti), St Marteen, and Puerto Rico and was wondering if there is a 'reputable' site to check. Have seen some VERY inaccurate posts on CC where they make Haiti out to be a HOT ZONE and others LOW. My last sailing, it turned out that there was a US Govmt notice about a 'B' strain of the Flu (that was NOT part of the US Flu Shot) in the Bahamas and I caught it and was sick for a couple weeks once I got home. I cruise more for the SHIP than the PORTS so when in doubt, I will stay on the ship... especially with the BA.5 (as I know of someone who got it twice in about a month)
  8. WOW mscinmia was very informative for you....Thanks
  9. If you go to the SEARCH Bar and type in 'recovery' and search in THIS FORUM, you will see a few threads (one started in May) for what people have done. I am sailing in the 8/5 cruise as well and I know of 1 other person who posted that they tested positive late June and was told no major issues with getting a Letter/Certificate of Recovery in time for a late July cruise. It used to be that getting COVID and recovering meant your all set with immunity for a reasonable time but the latest strain appears to be worse where you can even get re-infected in a couple week! Hope you make the sailing, as I am not one of those 'Witch Burners' (people who yell COVID and want to burn those who have it at the stake)
  10. So was I and I looked at the previous Dailies and saw times are pretty similar between cruises on the same Ship. This site lists previous Dailies https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/cruise-compass
  11. Hope ur on the Roll Call for the cruise on Cruise Critic
  12. I think you mean... NOT looking to start an argument.... I just emailed someone who got off Oasis and they wore short at everything from El Loco to 150 Central Park. Not sure about something like the Chefs Table (outside of the UDP) but everywhere else the only thing he said someone mentioned was he had really crappy flip flops (supposedly not to be open toed). If your on the 8/5 sailing, glad to meet you as my family will be on that too!
  13. AGREED! My TA was very vocal about how they treat Cruises as compared to other forms of vacations.
  14. Someone posted that the checkin on the ap DROPPED the 'precruise testing' text? Has that happened to anyone else?
  15. RCL, my TA, and someone just off Oasis said that Dinner was a charge unless you have a plan?
  16. Mine leaves 8/5...... how about beginning of August, PLEASE!!!!
  17. Thanks... I assume the Solarium is in the UDP Package? At over $1K, they should have grub hub delivery by jet ski!
  18. do they offer Mystery Theater on Oasis of the seas?
