  1. So if I Understood you correctly 'AspiringCindy', if you have a 10am check-in time (as I do on 8/5 for Oasis) and plan to park your car there... you should shoot to get onsite in Bayonne Pier at 9:15am? If that is correct, and I get in early, do they have a sitting area for us to wait until the 10am check-in?
  2. so any lunch reservations at Izumi would be 'Izumi Sake and Sushi lunch' in the ap while on ship?
  3. Thanks all... sounds like the boys will have to set up MULTIPLE reservations for lunch!
  4. I'm sorry, my mistake, I should have said Izumi Sushi. My two boys are Sushi nuts and are worried witrh reservations it will be tough. Again, not for dinner BUT LUNCH!
  5. Wow... great info from everybody. Thanks so much!!!! I was really getting worried about it being dead when we got off the ship but 9it sounds like the isles are almost back to normal. Only stop still on my 'do not get off the ship' list is St Thomas! Not because the stop, as I lovvved the beaches there, but last time my wife kept me in Jewelry shops for 7 hours!! Thanks again all!
  6. I was wondering from anyone going to the Caribbean... or at least a 7 day or more to Bahamas… Is it better to stay on the ship at Ports, and take advantage of the lower population on the ship then or get off at the ports. In other words, are the ports recovered and offer more to do than the RCL ships (as I keep seeing Restaurant and activity closures being reported on Oasis). How is Labadee? San Juan? St Marteen?
  7. I agree! I scrapped to set up an Aug 5th sailing for my DW and two college sons and simply saying its not RCL's fault for limited staff totally forgets the fact that they should be monitoring staff with total ship capacity! We have only sailed on maybe 4 or 5 cruises but tried Carnival, NCL, and RCL and honestly I go with who offers the best for my limited budget! The best cruise we were ever on was with NCL 'Breakaway' some time ago but that doesn't lock us to NCL. If COVID occurs on the ship, and they have been keeping it clean, I don't blame RCL BUT if they are short staffed and still sell at 102% capacity... then I do. Based on what I see people talking about spending on these cruises, I am sure RCL is not really concerned with us BUT they will loose loyalty if they don't wake up. I know more complain on CC than praise but above is my opinion and will control my staying with RCL or, jump ship. I remain cautiously optimistic.
  8. Unfortunately, with two kids in college, and summer classes, Aug 5th was the ONLY cruise time that was possible for Oasis. Have the UDP (used all the pennies in the jar for that one) and just hope that all the Specialty Res are actually open? How are they on your cruise? OPEN, CLOSED, ??? There also was a strange post on another thread that Izumi was no longer available for lunch on Oasis? If so that kills half of what the boys used to talk me into the UDP. Is Izumi actually closed for lunch?
  9. keep us informed as to how the cruise goes.... any Restaurant closures, staffing issues, covid, etc. The postings I have read about other ships has us worried!
