We just scheduled our flights into FLL arriving 3/28, so planning on spending 2 nights in Fort Lauderdale. Is there an area you recommend that is convenient to restaurants and hopefully shopping to p/u the last minute essentials? (I tried searching & reading but quickly became overwhelmed with the different areas 🤣) Thank you!

We just came to the same realization over the weekend. I couldn’t figure out why everything was either sold out or exorbitantly priced. Following for suggestions…

Shuttle Service at the Budget rental car drop off at Port Canaveral
KP@Sea replied to edsworld's topic in Florida Departures
Our experience was in May, but unless things have changed significantly since then I would not recommend Budget at Canaveral. It took my husband 2.5 hours to return, after dropping me and the luggage off at the port. The lines for both p/u & d/o were out the door and only 2 employees working. He and another couple ended up taking a cab, because there was one shuttle running and it too was backed-up. -
My SIL reported that they were not allowing diapered children in the pool. All needed to be potty trained

Definitely agree~ We enjoyed Grills the evening before our last cruise and we ate at Kelly’s prior to flying home after the cruise. (We spent the day at Jetty Park). Both were excellent. We also stayed at Country Inn & Suites, and had a pleasant stay. Clean, quiet and comfortable.

Getting rental car at Port Canaveral for day
KP@Sea replied to joestein514's topic in Florida Departures
When we disembarked we waited 90 minutes for the shuttle to pick us up to take us to the rental office. There we waited 60 minutes to get to the counter, only to find out they didn’t have the vehicle we reserved. They had our reservation, just not a vehicle. We waited another hour for a car to be turned in, so it could be turned over for our use. The car was not cleaned, just handed the keys to us. It was filthy inside. Fast food wrappers, beer cans (😳) and other trash inside. We had only rented for 9 hours, and we used 4 already. Prior to returning the car @ MCO, we filled the gas tank. Luckily, I had taken a picture of the dash. When we arrived home, I noticed I was charged a penalty for returning the car on empty, plus the cost of gas for them to fill it up. I had to involve my CC company to resolve. -

We used Budget and had Fast Break in May and it was an awful experience. I would believe the negative reviews. Have you looked into Alamo? Are they still available at PC? -
Changing from Rental Car to Shuttle to return to MCO
KP@Sea replied to GaTechCruiser's topic in Florida Departures
We had a terrible experience with Budget at PC, so I think you are making the right decision. Here is a list of shuttle companies that @GTO-Girl has helpfully put together: -
Are the kids getting the upgraded beverage package also? My son used to enjoy virgin daiquiris (especially banana) and pina coladas 🍹 I would recommend tasting it first before you hand it off to your kids, unless you watched it being made. We had one or two ‘oops’ moments on NCL when we ordered from a pool server

using Amazon to ship overseas with stuff for cruise
KP@Sea replied to question221's topic in Ask a Cruise Question
I use the ThermaCare brand when I travel, and have had no issues bringing them on the ship. They stay hot for several hours, and they adhere to skin/clothing so they stay where you put them https://www.amazon.com/s?k=thermacare&rh=p_85%3A2470955011&dc&crid=2E4DLV5BQEC0E&qid=1689721781&rnid=2470954011&sprefix=thermacare%2Caps%2C363&ref=is_r_p_85_1&ds=v1%3ATrUcZLM133g9PsZr1nbdEcgd%2FQCntRK6M5GSfxvG33k -
What are your tips and tricks when going on a cruise?
KP@Sea replied to phatmanandy86's topic in First Time Cruisers
This just happened this week to my son. He had to gate check his bag, and for some reason it did not make it onto the plane. Fortunately, he was traveling home. -
Seeking Pictures of the Ciopinno from Ocean Blue
KP@Sea replied to laudergayle's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
No pictures, but I had it in May on the Getaway. It looked much like Bird’s but with even less seafood. The majority was calamari, which was tough and flavorless -
We will keep it down, unless DH starts snoring.. 😂. In that case, I’ll be sleeping on the balcony.

How did you like this cabin with regards to location and noise level? We are booked in 9780 for a 21 day Panama Canal cruise, and I’m a bit concerned being above all the activity on deck 8.

Favorite foods/dishes on NCL (within the past year or two)

Both varieties of pretzel rolls were available at the buffet last month. Often, one or the other, but sometimes both. -

The scallops (appetizer) at Ocean Blue were excellent last month on the Getaway. I also agree the French onion soup at LeBistro is very good. -
The Bird was not being confrontational, simply pointing out that you are linking a site that does not answer the question. The OS/DOS allows guests to pre-select bottles of their choosing to be stocked in the room prior to embarkation as one of the perks.

Dyson Airwrap or Shark Flexstyle on Getaway?
KP@Sea replied to shellgoodman's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
I brought my Flexstyle on the Getaway last month. It made a ‘buzzing’ noise and quit working. It will not work at home at all now. -
I had originally booked with Cruise Control. The airline changed our flight times, and Cruise Control wasn’t available at the new time. I should have taken it as a sign that Cocoa Beach Shuttle was the only company with availability on short notice.. ⚓️

We had a similar experience last month with Cocoa Beach Shuttle. The driver arrived significantly past our confirmed pickup time and we had to wait for 2 other parties. (We were also led to believe we had booked a private shuttle) All in, it took 4 hours from baggage claim to our hotel check-in. No response to emails requesting an explanation.
