  1. If you're asking me, yes I do realize that. The amount she/they offered me was up to them. I did not ask or negotiate for a particular amount. If they weren't "comfortable" giving that amount, they wouldn't have offered & given it or they wouldn't continue working at that agency. This is my first experience using this agency, so other than the initial booking, I'm not sure how much other assistance I can expect if any glitches arise.
  2. I recently booked a 7 day cruise for late January in a YC Deluxe cabin on Seascape with a major on-line agency. Even with a 10% military discount, they gave us a $500 obc in addition to $200 obc from MSC which was part of the then current promotion. The agency I used was recommended by another CC member on this board via e-mail.
  3. Oops - I typed TC instead of YC but you got the gist of what I was asking. Since there's just two of us, the walk-in closet and a bit more space don't outweigh not having noise from the pool deck above. Thanks for the replies...
  4. We have a YC Deluxe suite booked for January on Seascape. They've offered an upgrade to YC Deluxe Grand for $110/pp minimum bid. As this will be our first MSC cruise, we're wondering if it'd be "worth" the cost (very subjective we know). What is the difference between the two suite types? Is it strictly just the area of the cabin's interior & balcony? Most Grands are below the pool deck which we try to avoid due to noise. Are these Grands below the pool deck also noisy? Thanks for your help
  5. UPDATE: I discovered that the problem was similar to the one poster Stockjock experienced (still ongoing?) in that my name on the booking doesn't match what's in Voyagers Club data. Somehow VC has my middle name listed twice. Even though I was afraid to call due to the horror storied I've read on this board, I did speak to a regular MSC agaent and said she couldn't make the change. She had me e-mail the VC department and request the name be change in their database. A day or two later I was finally able to access the cruise on line, but when I went to fill in data for the Check-In section, my middle name was still showing twice. Another agent tried to correct it and OH NO!, now I cannot even access the booking again! Another e-mail has been sent to the VC folks for them to correct the issue hopefully for good! (but not holding my breath)
  6. The MSC Voyagers Club specific information on the MSC website lists as one of the privileges: "Late cabin check-out disembarkation [Diamond], late cabin check-out on disembarkation for Diamond card members can stay in their cabin till 2 hours after the ship arrives in port. Members should check transfer time to make sure they can enjoy the privilege. More details are available by contacting Recption - Guest Service and / or MSC Voyagers Club infopoint." As the paying guest, I'd be offended if my butler gave me pushback for trying to enjoy this privilege. I book late afternoon flights home to avoid rushing and compensate for possible disembarkation delays. Ideally, we'll go somewhere for a leisurely lunch before hitting the airport. Being "forced" off the ship early so the butler can clear his passenger list early wouldn't sit right with me because that'd most likely be too early to go to a restaurant for lunch. I guess I'd tell him he can clear me off his list and after a week or more on the ship, I'd be able to find my way off on my own. I'm not saying I'd stay in the cabin that whole time since I do understand that they need to turn that cabin for the next guests, but I would like to relax a bit more in Top Sail or on the pool deck. Just sayin'....
  7. I don't know what you consider short term, but our booking for the GEG-PDX cruise next Oct was eligible for the free airfare when it ws booked 14 months in advance. Since we live in Spokane, we didn't need it, but it was available. BTW, they wanted more for just the one-way return PDX-GEG than we can get it on our own.
  8. Thanks dwc & reed. That does help
  9. Haven't been on the Mera, but I don't see anything like that on the deck plans unless La Vetrina, Hola or the mini mall on deck 6 offer such things gratis (fat chance)
  10. Nobody knows this??? I understand that any answers won't be Seascape specific, but what about info for other ships??? Thanks
  11. Just booked our 1st MSC cruise on Seascape in Yacht Club for January. Even though Seascape isn't sailing yet, I have some small easy general questions: Do YC Deluxe Suites (YC1) have any loungers on the balconies or can they be requested & provided by the butlers/stewards? What diet sodas are onboard the ships (can or gun)? Is it possible to request being in the last group to disembark the ship back in Miami (our flight isn't until 4:15pm)? I assume that there's a charge for eating at the sushi bar (even for YCers). Is that correct and if so any idea of the prices?
  12. That's all I've found also. At least we'll be in Cozumel 2 days later...
  13. Please disregard this thread - it somehow started as a duplicate post...
  14. Just booked our 1st MSC cruise for January in Seascape's yacht Club. We have previously status matched to Diamond/Black Voyager Club level based on our Princess Elite standings. My wife's VC account was easily linked to the cruise booking but for some reason my account doesn't update. When I'm logged into my VC account and submit the booking # I do get a reply that the booking was linked, but when I click on "Cruise Details" nothing happens except for the infamous spinning circle arrow. I'm afraid to call MSC due to the horror stories I've read about MSC agents/IT problems messing up details when a booking is accessed for even minor changes or corrections. HELP!

  16. You are correct about not having that experience - thanks for explaining it better
  17. What a great idea! Filed away for my first MSC cruise in 3 months...
  18. Good idea, but no help if the other person also has a bright true yellow belt on their luggage because they're color blind and that;s the only color they can distinguish...😲
  19. I assume you've already purchased the airfare (not only from NOLA back to MEM but also RT to/from your home to MEM if that was required) and chances are that's non-refundable. But be sure to check with the airline to see if they can give you a CREDIT to use for other flight if they can't refund to your original payment method. It's worth a try, some airlines will do this... Paul
  20. After 42 years in two careers, I finally retired from flying last year. I wish blue skies and tailwinds for BCD and smooth seas for you both...
  21. Thanks for writing - looking forward to reading more about your cruise and the Divina
  22. Perhaps you it might have been better if you'd purchased your own trip insurance rather than the one NCL offered. Either way, you ALWAYS need to read the policy itself to see exactly what is covered and what isn't.
