I often wondered why no one has figured out how to override the sensors on the balcony doors and IV windows. Isn’t there just a magnet in the door or window that activates the sensor? As soon as someone finds the location, a small magnet may override the system.

I wish this was true, but I’ve never been on a cruise where the pools aren’t closed in the evening. They usually reopen around 7am.

When was your last trip on the Rotterdam? I’m not aware of any propulsion issues.

That’s a really good question. I completely the first leg of a B2B and I’m on my second second leg with a new booking number. Technically I think I’m a 1 star Mariner but I doubt the system knows.

It still amazes me that Celebrity committed to a design of a new class of ships that virtually eliminated the most common type of cabin without fully realizing that a lot of there customers wouldn’t like the veranda design. Design features that are so polarizing should not be implemented because they will lose a lot of their customer base.

Your absolutely correct it's a value proposition. But I've found some TA's for other cruise lines offering discounts in the 7 -8 % range. For that amount on expensive cruises, I'll look around. The TA just needs to be available to service the booking without long delays.

I really was talking about booking a large group of my own. What I have found with other cruise lines is that prior to final payment some TA's reserve or are assigned a certain number of cabins at a lower group rate that is offered to their clients. I haven't been able to find that for the cruises I've thinking about with HAL.

I will likely book my first HAL cruise in a few weeks but I've been having a difficult time finding any discounted rates. Do travel agents offer discounted group rates on HAL like they do on other cruise lines? Are there any additional perks offered such s additional OBC? Is there a general rule of thumb what percentage constitutes a good deal. Please don't mention any particular TAs. I'll continue my search if there's a possibility of finding something.
