  1. Lol!! I don't know about enough is enough, but after seeing them in the Cavern Club over our last 3 sailings, we decided to sail Getaway to change it up. Cavern for Syd's! And I'm a big Sinatra fan. My father was a jazz musician and his best friend toured with Sinatra for many years as his percussionist. When my mom had some back surgery he got Sinatra's autograph for her. And Tony Bennett I love too. I saw him about 10 years ago (maybe more) at a smallish venue on LI and he was still great! BTW - favorite Sinatra album is Sinatra at the Sands Freaking awesome live set with Count Basie orchestra!
  2. Went on a cruise with my in-laws probably 20+ years ago and every day they would complain to us how breakfast was lousy and cold. I would tell them every day that they should go to the mdr for breakfast, where they make it to order and they would have a better experience. Needless to say, they complained to us every day and never went to the mdr.
  3. I don't disagree. We're sailing for 10 days in April and a laundry room would be great for many on board. I just don't want my wife to be doing laundry while we vacation and, anyway, we get a free bag of laundry when we sail and I thought they did a reasonably good job with it last time.
  4. Lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No worries! I'm astonished at the commitment that it takes to do a live review and appreciate it every time. I get "cruise brain" after boarding and could never do what you all do. Last July, on Joy, I wanted to screen shot every day from the app the freestyle daily, so that I could post them after returning for those (like me) who really appreciate them. I remembered day 1 and that was it. All a blur after that. Lol 🤣 Thanks and have fun!
  5. I had the same experience on Joy this past July. There was also that sort of round bench in the water by the pool and we drank there too. In fact I was served while in a hot tub too, but it was a port day and the hot tubs were practically empty.
  6. False!!! But you are persistent! They do not hold back passes and it's not their policy. Proven already and confirmed onboard by the OP.
  7. We ate at Q and it was average, at best. But, the 3 times we sailed with Q onboard, we would pop in after 9pm to enjoy the music and have a drink. It was always almost empty. All 3 times the bands or duo were really talented and my country music loving wife really enjoyed it. I discovered the Smoked Peach Margarita on our last sailing and it was delicious!!
  8. Lol 🤣🤣😆 You're scaring me! I bought Starbuck gift cards for my wife and daughter on Valentines Day for our upcoming sailing on Getaway and I also am always the first to rise so I can see this happening to me! And while I love my girls, I don't want to wait in line for coffee ☕. Lol Have a great sailing!
  9. We sailed Dawn when it was brand new and I seem to remember laundry facilities and my wife actually doing a load of wash while onboard. I understand why they would have gotten rid of that and I'm glad too. Lol!!
  10. Thanks for confirming what has already been suspected on here. Have a great sailing!
  11. No they're not and it's not their policy! Proven multiple times already. You continue to provide false information!
  12. Those cabins look beautiful! That would be disappointing if the bathrooms were the same because those club balcony bathrooms were so nice to have if the cost difference wasn't significant. Enjoy your sailing!
  13. The word "Club"...... just kidding!!! If it's the same on Prima as their other ships, the big difference is the bathroom. It's way bigger with a double sink and a walk-in shower with multiple jets. It's the best bathroom I've ever been in on a cruise ship. There are a few perks too. Some snacks and a free bag of laundry and a couple of other things. It's all about the bathroom though!
  14. I was just perusing the Freestyle Dailies from the most recent Getaway sailing, which was a 10 day trip, and it was loaded with entertainment options. I'm doing this sailing in April, so I was very interested in the evening schedule as we are sun deck people and will be spending most of our days at Vibe or ashore. There's comedy, theater shows, shows in the Illusionarium, dueling pianos, Syd's and other music acts in several locations, theme parties, etc. Now, I understand that not everyone likes these forms of entertainment, but me and my girls do and we expect it to be fabulous! We had similar but different entertainment on Joy this past July and thoroughly enjoyed it too. I can't imagine ever being bored on our upcoming sailing. My wife enjoys going from venue to venue to see different acts and she'll be able to do that on Getaway. Happy Cruising!
  15. I suggest setting up a table outside the DBH at around midnight and catch the drunkards on their way out. I'd definitely buy some thin mints for my walk back to the cabin! Lol!!!!!😆 I hope they accept obc!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Lol !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. I hope you're right, for your sake. Joy is a great ship and should be better with the refurb.
  18. some people on here believe they hold back passes, but I don't. With that being said, people do cancel their passes, so it's worth it to continue checking the app until you board and then after you board.
  19. And that's what I meant by scope of company. And, when you brought up covid and how they were hurt also by the pandemic, you opened the door to PPP loans being a part of it regardless of whether they took one or not And, the fact that NCLH couldn't get a ppp loan meant that they had to borrow in other ways to stay afloat (get it) that won't allow for the same forgiveness as the ppp ones. BTW I'm ordering a large plain pie later this afternoon to have for dinner with my wife and daughter and it will cost me $22 plus tax.
  20. I agree. It's a bad analogy for a million different reasons that won't fit in a single post. A family owned pizza business has how many employees? Do they own or do they rent? How much ppp money did they receive? I know of many small businesses that received so much ppp money that they were able to not only survive quite easily but actually thrive. Not to mention the ridiculously easy loan forgiveness rules that would never apply to a company with the scope of a NCLH. NCLH has 32 ships, with 5 on order. They have over 40k employees and had close to 3 million customers in 2023. For me, it's a very bad comparison. With that being said, I'm all in for a large pizza with toppings for $21! That's a steal in my neighborhood.
  21. Where's all the chatter you mention? Like you I've never stayed in the Haven, but I've been on these forums for years and have read much of what's posted here, and the vast majority of people love their experiences in the Haven and many wouldn't cruise NCL without it. And before you argue the point, the one thing that confirms what I'm saying is that the Haven sells out virtually every sailing. Sometimes that's because of upgrades but it proves the popularity and the willingness of many to pay an awfully high price for it. And it's probably not the elevators and embark/debark perks that keeps them coming back. From what I've read the Haven restaurant is great and I'm sure people love their own Observation Lounge on the ships that have that venue.
  22. We were just talking about this last night. My wife, daughter and I are sailing Getaway in April. We stopped hitting the buffet for lunch many years ago. Just too crazy an atmosphere. On recent cruises we've done O'Sheehans and mostly the mdr. The mdr, either taste or savor, is a nice and relaxing way to start your cruise. Another recently made free option is American Diner. We discussed possibly doing that venue for a change. As far as luggage is concerned, we check our big bags with the porter and lug around our carry on bags. I bring a backpack so not really a big deal. Have a great sailing!
  23. Not those that read the posts stating that it's only about lounge chair availability.
  24. The only flaw in what you're saying is that NCL continues to increase the scope of the Haven with every new ship and they've doubled the size of Vibe on almost every ship 🚢. The demographic you mention would not be interested in these amenities or can't afford them.
  25. I agree with most of what you're saying. If it's actually so, that NCL is going after first time cruisers as opposed to catering to the more experienced, it's more sustainable than you think. With everything going up in price, including all the vacation alternatives, the first time cruisers will experience value that they can't duplicate with any other type of vacation. These first time cruisers don't know how things used to be different or if it used to be better. They will eat, drink, be entertained, receive good to excellent service and get it all for way less $$$ than alternative vacation venues. They will become the repeat cruisers!
