  1. I see exactly the same for my 4/19 sailing on Getaway. As you said, not a big deal. We walk up when we want to eat in the complimentary dining rooms and have no problem waiting a few minutes, if necessary.
  2. Again, so what? What's wrong with a "bribe", as described in these instances? It's not illegal. These aren't cops we're dealing with. I know in my case, when I "bribe" my cabin steward on the first day, I'm not asking him/her to do anything not within their scope of duties. So, what's the issue with the big, bad "bribe"?
  3. Hysterical!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You choose to insult rather than add value! You don't know me or how I divvy up my $$$!! Lol 🤣🤑 Telling me that I'm throwing away money or what I should be doing with it doesn't add anything to the thread started by the OP. And making $20 sound like it's nothing is, not only insulting to me but it's insulting to the cabin steward that truly values that $20 plus any additional money I "tip" him/her throughout the sailing. You are obviously more thrifty/frugal than I and, apparently, it works for you. Good luck with that!!!
  4. Nobody has said that you can't accomplish the same thing without the $20. As I've said previously, I too include $20 with my introductory note that has my simple requests on it. I enjoy doing it, it typically improves the response time for my requests and I perceive that it improves my relationship with the steward. Again, and I've mentioned it before, I know this first $20 is a "bribe" and I'm happy to do it. It's not illegal. It's not unethical. It makes my family happy. It makes the cabin steward happy! It's a win, win for all involved! 53 Days until I get to slip my cabin steward a crisp $20 bill!!!!! Lol!!!
  5. So what? And they never called it a tip.
  6. It's like you don't know what bait and switch means. In no way, is what you describe, a bait and switch.
  7. We do the same. We "bribe" our steward with a $20 bill on the first day with our list of common requests. If most everything from our list is taken care of, we "tip" $20 on the third day. And then we'll "tip" an additional $20 at the end of our sailing. This has been our strategy going back awhile now.
  8. We sailed Encore January, 2020 and we also loved Los Lobos. Everything was sooooo good! We did Escape to Jost Van Dyke on that sailing too and loved it so much we're doing it again when we sail Getaway in 56 (LT) days!! As far as the buffet food going downhill, I'm not sure that I've felt it yet. We've sailed Joy summer 2022 and summer 2023 and thought it was the same as always, pretty much. We've tried to not focus as much on eating on our last 4 or 5 cruises, so I may not be the best to judge that. I know there was plenty and I always found something that I liked. So happy to hear you had a good time!
  9. On which ship 🛳 did you have Vibe passes and why did you find it not worth the price at all?
  10. I've never boarded in NYC later than 11:30 and usually it's closer to 11am. If you show up at 9:30am you'll get through security and checkin by 10:30 and will wait less than an hour, almost certainly. If you show up at 11am,the lines are likely to be very long. We usually go early and wait a little longer to board. We're sailing Getaway in April out of NYC and are planning to show up later. Probably around 1pm. I anticipate that we'll cruise (get it) through and board very quickly with little to no lines. It's a 10 day sailing so we're not as anxious to squeeze every minute out of our cruise.
  11. Log in and then log out when you're finished. You'll save minutes and should be able to make it through the week.
  12. https://profcruise.com/ncl-menus-2024/ At the bottom you'll see the vibe snack menu. It may be obsolete but the page was updated just a couple of weeks ago.
  13. Personally, I wouldn't be interested in the snack menu but I'll look for it when I sail. And my wife and daughter will love the fruit.
  14. I believe there is a Vibe snack menu. I've seen it posted on the professor cruise website.
  15. Lol 😂 Will do. I've already discussed with my daughter. We are ordering room service within the first day or 2 out of 10. We'll order some stuff that can stay in the fridge for a couple of days, including a couple of pieces of 7 layer chocolate cake! It'll be like a science experiment. What if someone wakes up hungry in the middle of the night. Lol!
  16. 100% we'll be doing sailaway in Vibe in 57 days!
  17. I was hoping for the morning coffee ☕! I think that'll be another thing my wife will enjoy. Thanks for paying attention. Lol 😂
  18. Not worth the price for you. But, as this thread and all the others prove, it's worth it to the vast majority of people who have gotten passes.
  19. I didn't love my ribeye at Cagney's on Joy this past July. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't great. It may have been because I just had the best ribeye of my life in Vegas a couple of months prior. With that being said, we're sailing Getaway in April and my daughter has requested that we dine the first night at Cagney's, as it's her birthday. I may try the ribeye again or maybe I'll try the prime rib. Either way, my daughter and I will be getting the 7 layer Chocolate cake. BTW I believe (but not 100%) that the 7 layer chocolate cake described on the all day room service menu, may be the same one as at Cagney's. With plenty of obc and a 10 day sailing, I'll be checking it out. Lol!!
  20. Go into the NCL app and click on Entertainment. It should be there, if still available. Or maybe it doesn't show up until final payment?
  21. I understand your cost to value opinion. I've been investigating Vibe passes since they were $99 (I believe) for a 7 day sailing and I just purchased them for the first time for a 10 day sailing coming up in April on Getaway. I'm paying $289 x 3 for me, my wife and daughter. Super expensive! My wife is unhappy with the cost, but I think the Vibe amenities and service will win her over. We've always travelled in groups that included children, so we haven't had the opportunity to book passes before this. We are, and have always been, sundeck people. We will spend all day outside, if the weather allows. MY responsibility, since I'm the early riser that goes to the gym at 5:45, was to go up on deck after showering and reserve loungers for me and my girls. It's a thankless job that I've been doing for many years! I always got us a nice spot on the deck overlooking the pool deck and I'd get the same spot every day, so everyone always knew where we were. If you don't mind sitting 1/2 inch from the person next to you, it's a great strategy for sundeck people. I'm not one of those that drops their stuff and leaves for a couple of hours. I or someone in my party will always be by the chairs. This makes life difficult if you all want to go for a meal or do something quick elsewhere. It's actually part of the reason we've never attended a M & G before. Vibe will fix that for us. No rushing upstairs to reserve chairs and we can come and go without worrying that we'll never find another spot to hang out. The bar, the (anticipated) awesome service and hot tubs are actually secondary perks for me. I'm excited! 57 days until Vibe for me!
  22. I think it's definitely worth it! $300pp x2 for 10 days is pretty inexpensive. The issue is, as a minimum bid, it might not win. If you were happy with your choice of an inside cabin, make the bid and see what happens.
  23. Now that you put it out there......Lol! Give us your list of favorite to least favorite Vibes.
  24. Some feel the vibe is not worth the cost under any circumstance. The vast majority of those that have actually stayed in Vibe, believe it's an essential part of any sailing. Provide a little info about your itinerary and you'll get some better answers.
  25. The last couple of weeks there's definitely been an uptick in aggressive postings! The greatest legal mind of our era has been on here stirring the pot and, I believe, was the reason for a couple of our most humorous threads to be locked. Just saying...........
