  1. Cruisemapper times are in GMT. 0030 GMT equals 0600 Mumbai.
  2. The Grand European Grand Voyage on Voyager this summer was supposed to have close to a dozen days in Turkey (in addition to Israel); now, only three days in Turkey and a dozen in Greece. We had switched to Grand Arctic (again) because of the heat of so many days inTurkey in middle of summer; I guess we could have waited; still Greece will be hot.
  3. Mariner will probably have a Cape Town to Miami segment (or two segments with no Med). Navigator is a different story; she has a whole Med season to protect; I have no idea what Regent will do with her.
  4. NCL developed new dock in Ketchikan a few years back that is not even in Ketchikan. Last time we were on Mariner in Alaska stopped at this new dock and it was ridiculously far out of town. Any change would be welcome versus going again to NCL dock.
  5. Mariner going to Miami not Med. Mariner will be in Male Maldives two days before HAL and arrives in Miami six days after HAL; they can do same itinerary as HAL but add six or more days in port. Navigator willl have a much more involved modification.
  6. RCL announcing earnings tomorrow morning; I am sure the cancellations/reroutings will be a topic at the earnings call.
  7. That's what I get for not looking at a map; I was thinking Goa but Cochin was on website. Moon still on Mumbai port schedule as of last version on 24 January; will be interesting to see if on next version.
  8. Why can't both Mumbai and Cochin be true? Put current booked passengers into hotels in Mumbai on 11th with boarding on 14th AND option of boarding 15th in Cochin? Maybe even give offer to current pax that they can decrease their cruise from 18 nights to 14 nights (with fare reduction) and then Silversea would not be on hook for so many hotel rooms. Marc PS There are two threads with identical cross posts so I didn't know which thread to append my question.
  9. Any word on possible change of itinerary after Maldives? Going south instead of north?
  10. Although the duck entree was taken off Chartreuse menu on Mariner (but still available on Grandeur), I have found duck is the one game meat you can get most nights. Elk, venison, squab, quail, pheasant, ostrich, and others have all disappeared in last few years. Even foie gras has been taken off the always available menu in Compass Rose but you can still put in a standing special order if you want.
  11. Yes, and I apologize for thinking you were flying over the pond; evening flights are usually international.
  12. Just special order it. Chef might ask that you special order it for a night where duck is already on menu but all the ingredients should be available. Special ordering is now done at Dining Reservation desk but a recipe specific dish might be easier to order through dining room manager.
  13. Cruise no longer on website. I also couldn't find any mention of a cruise leaving from Colombo; Singapore embarkation is first cruise. Maybe I can't figure out the Silversea website.
  14. Embarkation usually starts at 1130. Last month we were there a little early and one of the Regent busses rolled up. All passengers stayed on the bus until line started moving so they didn't have to stand outside. You should be in a similar situation. As for debarkation, Regent sometimes runs tours (e.g., Everglades airboat) and then drop off at airport; your fellow Brits should be able to give their past experiences. marc
  15. Please! No! It happened on our last cruise and I hope to never see it again. I am sure others have a different viewpoint. Marc
  16. Silver Moon making 15 kts even though top speed is 21 kts; appears to me that fuel efficiency is more important to the Company than making the 11 February Mumbai departure.
  17. I was wrong, Silver Moon is en route Cape Town. No way does the math work for 11 February embarkation in Mumbai so will be interesting when Silversea admits to schedule change.
  18. Cruise ships with guests are currently prohibited from transiting through the Bab al-Mandab Strait at end of Red Sea. Now that Silver Moon has offloaded all of her passengers, she can sail back through Suez Canal and the Red Sea and on to Mumbai.
  19. World Cruise on Mariner leaves Abu Dhabi for the Suez Canal 17 days before Navigator; I would follow along on World Cruise thread to see what Chrisy et al report from the Mariner.
  20. I agree, but they could hire a service to shepherd us through the process and facilitate communications with the Indonesian embassy/consulates.
  21. We were in a Grandeur F2 through three storms. There is a vertical grab bar that is pretty long in middle of back wall. I got pretty good at rinsing my hair with one hand as I held onto the grab bar. Never felt unsafe. There is also a hand held attachment in the bathtub. You can always sit in bathtub and wash your hair there if you are unsure about being on your feet.
  22. An account for each of you or just one for family? How far in advance can you start the process?
  23. Thanks; I have no reason not to believe you. are 100% correct; I just wish I got the same information from Regent; hopefully sometime in the future. Again, thanks;
  24. Added overland to Auckland to Athens March 2025 so I got a new invoice. Indonesia Visa is no longer listed. In addition, Grand Voyage Barcelona to Sydney lOctober 2025 also has removed Indonesia visa. What is the meaning of "comprehensive visa package" when one country is removed? I am also curious as to why Indian e-visa is on October 2025 trip but not March 2025 trip. Of course, I am going to work this through my TA and Regent; just posting this for others that might not have noticed the change.
  25. Never seen Diet Pepsi unless requested in advance. Diet Coke, Caffeine Free Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Seven Up Zero, Diet Dr Pepper, Diet Ginger Ale, Diet Tonic Water, Diet Root Beer (may have to be special request), and Diet Cranberry Juice.
