  1. Cruise ships with guests are currently prohibited from transiting through the Bab al-Mandab Strait at end of Red Sea. Now that Silver Moon has offloaded all of her passengers, she can sail back through Suez Canal and the Red Sea and on to Mumbai.
  2. World Cruise on Mariner leaves Abu Dhabi for the Suez Canal 17 days before Navigator; I would follow along on World Cruise thread to see what Chrisy et al report from the Mariner.
  3. I agree, but they could hire a service to shepherd us through the process and facilitate communications with the Indonesian embassy/consulates.
  4. We were in a Grandeur F2 through three storms. There is a vertical grab bar that is pretty long in middle of back wall. I got pretty good at rinsing my hair with one hand as I held onto the grab bar. Never felt unsafe. There is also a hand held attachment in the bathtub. You can always sit in bathtub and wash your hair there if you are unsure about being on your feet.
  5. An account for each of you or just one for family? How far in advance can you start the process?
  6. Thanks; I have no reason not to believe you. are 100% correct; I just wish I got the same information from Regent; hopefully sometime in the future. Again, thanks;
  7. Added overland to Auckland to Athens March 2025 so I got a new invoice. Indonesia Visa is no longer listed. In addition, Grand Voyage Barcelona to Sydney lOctober 2025 also has removed Indonesia visa. What is the meaning of "comprehensive visa package" when one country is removed? I am also curious as to why Indian e-visa is on October 2025 trip but not March 2025 trip. Of course, I am going to work this through my TA and Regent; just posting this for others that might not have noticed the change.
  8. Never seen Diet Pepsi unless requested in advance. Diet Coke, Caffeine Free Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Seven Up Zero, Diet Dr Pepper, Diet Ginger Ale, Diet Tonic Water, Diet Root Beer (may have to be special request), and Diet Cranberry Juice.
  9. We are doing the opposite, although we love Mariner and will be on her for 83 nights this summer, we can’t take a chance on entertainment, Christmas activities, and new year’s activities being as dismal as they were this year so we are canceling our 20 night Christmas New Years cruise on Mariner December 2024.
  10. I’ve been on Mariner for the last 23 days and to me she is in as good shape now as when we first sailed her 21 years ago. Still best public spaces except for deck 11 design, I hope they finally fix that in 2025. Cabins (at least mine) in great shape. Is she as fancy as new ships, no. We just came off 21 days on grandeur before joining and I prefer mariner. Mariner with grandeur’s deck 11 would be fantastic.
  11. Jamie and Dana arrived today. 😊 Ella arrived today. 😊😊 Life is Great 😊 😊😊
  12. I seem to remember getting an email about 11 Dec 24 Mariner cruise that is going to have former Captains and CDs; I cannot find the email. I also cannot find any mention on the Regent site with respect to this cruise? Am I hallucinating? Anyone have the email to copy and post? Any idea on who will be the guest CDs and Captains? Many thanks, Marc
  13. I have found this works (USA experience) to add to existing booking only when booking is over a year away and, of course, the category you want to book (and sail) is still available. Further, financially I have found this really works best on Mariner (E to C) or Navigator (G to E). I am currently on Navigator in a C and when this sale came out in 2022 my TA was able to change my booking to an E upgraded to C and saved us $2,300. Similar cruise on Explorer wherein we changed an F2 booking to G2 only saved us $1,000 for 30 day cruise. At least in USA (where Regent doesn't dump inventory) booking early is usually best deal. Marc
  14. All available. Also you can hire a personal trainer; did that one cruise.
  15. Looks like it is good on all cruises except Grand Voyages and World Cruises.
  16. That is the policy that Franck specifically said would not be followed; Regent got sued by someone who said their items were taken.
  17. This suggestion also has other usages. "Ladies and Gentlemen the spotlight is now on the gentlemen in shorts who doesn't pay attention to the dress code"
  18. Destinations staff member came up to me at pool bar and asked that I clarify my previous post to let people know I was only joking. They are tired of explaining the lack of Seaside zip line tours.
  19. That is easy. Just wait. Especially on Grandeur where there are so many more CCTV.
  20. Another solution would be to deny any additional specialty restaurant reservations. How about being called into GM office.
  21. “Ladies and Gentlemen, the show will begin in approximately five minutes. The spotlight is now on the gentleman who has been saving loungers on deck. Feel free to let him know your feelings.”
  22. Corporate decision is not to remove items from saved loungers; there are other ways to address the problem.
  23. I thought there were more on Grandeur. About 140 on deck 11 plus a lot more on deck 12 with the expanded deck space. I guess I over estimated. Starting in February Stephane and Michael will alternate as GM on Grandeur and both are no nonsense managers so I hope the chair hog problem will swiftly disappear.
