  1. Yes, I was on my first AZ cruise last month. All my previous Celebrity cruises were all recognized and I was assigned Adventurer status beforehand, so when on board, I just connected to the Internet and voila - here are my 30 mins for free!
  2. Took Air Transat YYZ-YUL-BCN and back last month, some 90 min layover in Montreal. The luggage was checked through all right, no problems getting it in BCN. On the way back it was also checked through to Toronto, which came as a surprise to me as I thought I was supposed to collect the luggage in YUL first to go through the customs. Very convenient.
  3. It was another cruise line I travelled with.
  4. For my upcoming Azamara cruise in December, Destination Celebration was already replaced by AzAmazing Evening on the list of shore excursions available for booking.
  5. My thoughts exactly: based on the number of seats and the hours, the specialty restaurants cannot physically accommodate all the guests on the ship if it's at full capacity. I guess they count on those who go dine at the food court.
  6. Thanks. It's a 7 day cruise we're after and I agree, trying all restaurants makes total sense. We may opt out of some due to health restrictions though.
  7. I took my antigen test a month ago at this pharmacy: Farmàcia Torres, Carrer d'Aribau, 62, 08011 Barcelona, Spain. Online booking, 10 min wait for the results, electronic copy (can also be printed rhy away on request), 18 euro. https://farmaciaabiertatorres24h.setmore.com/ P.S. Four blocks away from the pharmacy you may find fantastic Paco Meralgo restaurant, Catalan food, Michelin recommended!
  8. Oh, thanks that's just fantastic! I heard about walk in slots but wasn't sure. So it's true! (c)
  9. We were considering cruising with Virgin and stumbled upon this question: What if we like dinner at one of their multiple specialty restaurants and want to go there again? On a traditional cruise, we just pay and go. On Virgin, the website says we can only book once. So, what options do we have to get in for the second time? Do we have to pay, do we have to trade our booking quote from another restaurant, or is it a communist-style outright "not entitled"? Thanks.
  10. Sorry about interfering: there's one restriction indeed, not specifically related to the hair driers but to any electrical device used in the cabin: the maximum wattage is 1500 W, and some hair driers may exceed that value, so good that https://boards.cruisecritic.com/profile/1509315-blag/ raised this issue . https://www.azamara.com/ie/plan/general-information
  11. I agree. We have Apothic line in the stores. The sugar content in Apothic Red is 16 g/l, Apothic Cab 11 g/l, Crush 9 g/l, Dark 7 g/l, Merlot 14 g/l, Rosé 10 g/l. Whereas Dark and Crush may still be considered as dry wines, the others are more like semi-sweet.
  12. On my Pursuit cruise in June, the Azamara branded Italian Merlot vas ok.
  13. Being offered unique things on top of standard list of decent quality wines is always a nice option. This is what I do by myself as well when on a trip - try local. When with AZ, I can bring and consume local alcohol on board of the ship - something other cruise lines do not like their guests to do. I like to exercise this option not due to poor quality of included wines though.

    Pricing

Well, there's always another degree of exclusivity... Was walking by this superyacht in the port of Tarragona, the charter price tag was at 1,000,000 euro a week for a max of 12 guests - that's about £10,000 pp per day but the exclusivity level is very different)
  15. No fact can shoot down good conspiracy theory!☝️
  16. Knowing that the taste for wine is individual and with only one AZ cruise under my belt, I should say the quality of included wine on my cruise was well above my expectations. My understanding is, the wine selection this year varies from ship to ship, from cruise to cruise, and that's the issue. Hope it's gonna be resolved soon.
  17. We greatly appreciate you telling your story. We always read the posts in this thread carefully and learn from others' experience. Posts like yours really help us to see the big picture and decide on how to enjoy our time safely while on the cruise. Many thanks! 🤗
  18. Second that. Bringing a few bottles on board seems to be the optimal strategy under circumstances. Worked well on my last cruise, and we decided to do the same on our next AZ cruise later this year.
  19. On our cruise earlier this month, the all-aboard time was 30 mins before the posted departure time, and to my understanding, it was the hard deadline. One time, we told the Cruise Director we're going on the day trip on our own, and our bus is scheduled to get back some 5 mins before the all-aboard time, then they took our names/room number and recommended changing the bus to earlier arrival, which we did.
  20. On my cruise 2 weeks ago the debarkation time was listed as 7:30am-9:30am.
  21. It was Atlantis offering them this Baltic cruise in compensation for another Atlantis cruise they booked that was cancelled due to COVID (I believe it was Celebrity Apex Caribbean cruise).
  22. I have a friend on that cruise. It was offered to him instead of 2020 or 2021 cruise cancelled due to COVID. With an overnight stay in St Pete, it was sold out within two days but after the itinerary changes, there was a number of cancellations and currently quite a few cabins are still available on Atlantis website. The price did not change though.
  23. It popped up on my list of shore excursions some 4 to 6 weeks before the cruise.
  24. On our 10 day cruise in February, my DH got tested positive at debarkation (PCR) and we spent another 10 days in self isolation sharing the hotel room - I was still negative all the time (total of 9 tests in 20 days incl.4 PCR) - no corona sticks to me 🤷
