  1. Completely agree. Also, one would expect the wines offered on board (at least included wines) to be selected to accompany meals rather than be enjoyed on their own. We found included Azamara label Merlot and Cab to be well suitable just for that - they pair ok with most of the meats. Don’t expect them to pass double blind test against Margaux or Pauillac though:)
  2. I sincerely hope there will be no unpleasant surprises later on. My cruise in December has it under “AzAmazing Evening” on the excursion list and I’d prefer it to be that way) Anyways, in your case I just cannot imagine it in Destination Celebration format as bringing symphony orchestra on board Azamara ship is a bit of a stretch…
  3. Oh, and for your cruise, AzAmazing Evening was scheduled to be The Evening Symphony at Wellington Cathedral of St Paul. I attached Azamara flyer for your perusal. AzAmazing_Evenings_Flyer.pdf
  4. Yes, it’s been discussed elsewhere at length - back in October or so:
  5. I was there in February. We walked around just outside the cruise terminal - nothing remarkable, not very clean, not very comfortable to walk. For shopping, we took the cab at the terminal - they drove us to the shopping mall and picked up later. It looked safe to us.
  6. I hope it will be fine. Me and my husband met a bunch of Texan gals in their 60s on our recent cruise last June - we became like the best girlfriends right away 🙂
  7. All meetups scheduled after each other to make it easier for Lee to attend all of them:)
  8. On my cruise on Pursuit in June, CC Meet&Greet was on the 3rd day.
  9. So how did it turn out?
  10. The world has changed a lot over last 20 years, all cruise lines are now gay-friendly and so seem to be the guests. Nowadays one can choose the cruise without thinking about hiding oneself in the closet. In this situation, Atlantis has to compete with regular cruise lines for those not primarily interested in the parties - a fight hard to win. Parties sell though: this year’s big party cruises (Oasis and Odyssey) are sold outs whereas the “destination” journeys (Spanish, Baltic, Central American) are not.
  11. On my last sailing in May, I received it 4 days before the departure. It depends on the sales in your category.
  12. After our Azamara Spanish cruise, my better half insisted on including this dish in our family dinners’ rotation list as one of designated appetizers (the consequence being, I needed to learn how to cook it but no regrets whatsoever) 🤤
  13. Called Azamara last Friday, waiting time about 5 minutes.
  14. We took Air Transat in late May via Montreal, less than 2 hrs connection but summer seasonal only:( My experience of flying TAP was always positive, and personally I love Lisbon airport - Star Alliance lounge is one of the best in Europe.
  15. Here’s the menu, be the judge: https://www.azamara.com/booked-guests/onboard-packages/chefs-table?_aiid=14597&aqet=clk&idsite=12&teng=go&beng=g&deng=m&peng=&ieng=&kieng=&cieng=&cpieng=17143435092&feng=&cleng=EAIaIQobChMI1aHB3siD-gIV0D-tBh2cFQ4oEAAYASAAEgIHafD_BwE&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=performance_max_non_brand&uid=~~c~_aimg_id~~
  16. My German colleague used to tell me, when going for a conference to the States for the first time, he caught mild cold so when he asked for a Coke at the canteen and they shovelled ice into his glass first, he mildly protested. “You’re in the States now, get used to plenty of ice in drinks!” - shouted someone from the queue)

    Coming Back

For us, long 42 days on any cruise ship in the Caribbean beat long 42 Canadian Feb/March days:) We really enjoyed our Azamara cruise in June, have another coming in December on Onward and thinking of booking Onward Feb/March as well. Hope we’ll see you guys there!
  18. Not sure about the whites but I believe Azamara branded reds are Italian (Merlot), French (Syrah, Cab), and South African by origin.
  19. Yes, same with us - hope to get it in October some time.
  20. If you happen to be in the Maritimes or Quebec, try Cows PEI Blueberry!
  21. This is only for the cruises in Europe and in the Caribbean. In December, only one ship - Onward - will be in the Caribbean, others will be in the “all vaccinated zone”. Sounds like Azamara is gonna run an experiment on Onward… and we will be their guinea pigs as we happen to have booked their December Caribbean cruise 👍
  22. Same here in Canada. It’s $40 at SAQ whereas Nick is $55.
  23. No, I believe it’s 8am to 9pm.
