  1. Maybe it is the only Royal ship that goes there now but Holland America, Princess and NCL have ships that go there.
  2. I just read while googling around that Quantum class can only go under the bridge at low tide.
  3. I understood that. Somehow the idea was out there that Quantum Class could not go under the bridge, I would have to scroll back to see if someone actually posted that.Quantum class can go to a lot of ports including Alaska and Bermuda. So I think Royal is covered for many years even if the next builds are too large for Vancouver.
  4. I see Quantum of the Seas and Ovation of the Seas going to Vancouver.
  5. Princess has self service laundromats which come in handy on long cruises.I try to take longer cruises than 10 days on Princess. Also when you reach Princess Elite level all laundry is free. I am one cruise away from Princess Elite level. I don't book cruises to move up levels though. Only problem is that am veering away from mainstream cruise lines.
  6. They were cancelled because Pullmentur was wound up. I don't think Grandeur aged out I think Royal intended to add a ship to Pullmantur. If Granduer had aged out they would have scrapped her.
  7. Royal has 4 vision class ships in the fleet, Grandeur, Vision, Enchantmant and Rhapsody. I won't speculate when Vision class or Radiance class will age out. It could be a lot of years yet.
  8. That is nice but you are sailing Greenland right? Apparently Fox and MSNBC geo bock their streams in some regions. OP is sailing in a different region.
  9. Noise/anxiety help? Why won’t some other news channel’s do the same? I am afraid you are out of luck on Fox News in Europe. Princess didn’t cancel the Fox. Fox has geo blocked their stream in Europe. Probably MSNBC too. So the server Princess is using is locating the ship in Europe. Possibly some ships you were on outside the US were using a server located in the US. If you have the right VPN and choose a US you probably can stream them on your own devices.
  10. Newer. The new ship is always more expensive for a couple of years.
  11. Sure it would be nice if you watch live TV news to be able to watch a prefered station but if it is necessary to watch specific stations lthen OP should not cruise.
  12. Do they have the ropes on Joy? . On Breakaway all the children onboard seems to be having a great time with those.
  13. I didn't notice they dropped CNN as I stopped watching any cable news years ago. CNN, Fox, MSNBC are all clickbait. They are entertainment not news. I skim Apple News and Google now online for news when on a ship. I also read the Wall Street Journal and New York Times on their apps.
  14. Sounds like they don't want to pay for the other news channels. Only one. You are likely not going to get an answer from Guest Service. Years ago when I had an issue something like that on Princess a tweet on Twitter worked for an answer. If you are on the other social media site you might try their page there.
  15. It would cost about $34 for a taxi. Taxis in mass start lining up around 8:30. Most taxis there before 8;30 are prearranged. My friend always got an early tee time for the Port Royal golf course and had guest relations call a taxi company for a 7:30 tee time. Last time that I did the beach walk I was able to get one of the beach shuttle drivers to drop me off at Warwick Long Bay. I asked before i got on. The mnibus rate to Warwick is $9. After he dropped off people for Horseshoe he dropped me off at Warwick. I know others have done the same as that is how I knew to ask.
  16. Likely the satellites they use in Europe don't have broadcast rights to beam US cable news channels. It has been a few years but when I did a Princess Norway cruise the only news channel we got was CNN International. Not US CNN. It would not have anything to do with Starlink. Starlink is for interent not cable channels. Those would be recieved on different dishes.
  17. You can't swim in the Crystal Caves and the caves are nothing compared to caves I have visited in Kentucky and other areas of the US. Some in the US have elevators. Both caves at Crystal caves are 88 steps down and back up. Crystal Cave is an interesting small cave. To me it was a Bermuda bucket list visit and I didn't know until I visited what it was going to be. I think visitors from areas of the US that do not have caves woiuld have a positive experience.
  18. For either cruise you need to fly in a day early. So you would have a day in the New York area. I think sailing out of Manhatten on NCL is preferable. I have been on Liberty of the Seas and on NCL Breakaway which is a sister ship to NCL Joy. NCL Joy is a newer ship than LOS. Liberty of the Seas would be very good with kids, a lot of activities but from what I observed think NCL Joy would be awesome for kids. You say you have always wanted to go to Bermuda so the extra time on Joy is going to be great and NCL runs a free ferry to St. George. The extra day might be the difference of going to St. George or not. I think Joy is the better choice.
  19. Here is the list of ships on the AT&T website. Flora is not on it. Celebrity Cruises® Celebrity ApexSM, Celebrity BeyondSM , Celebrity Constellation®, Celebrity Eclipse®, Celebrity Edge®, Celebrity Equinox®, Celebrity Infinity®, Celebrity Millennium®, Celebrity Reflection®, Celebrity Silhouette®, Celebrity Solstice®, Celebrity Summit®
  20. Because it was an older ship the crew went all out for the passengers to make it a great cruise.
  21. Grandeur can only dock at the Dockyard. Royal has no ships that can dock at Hamilton or St. George. And Oasis class or anything larger than super Quantum size can’t dock anywhere in Bermuda because the channels are too narrow. I am sure there are many ports that because of bridges and channels will have a limit on ship size.
  22. There are ships that can sail into St. George’s and Hamilton. I did one a few years ago on Oceania. Only a few sailings though. I was planning to repeat this September but the dates conflicted with a family reunion. Was on sale and they offered a pretty good deal. They are doing the same next year but over a year out the prices are still high. I will watch sales. With sale prices they are not much more than Celebrity.
  23. In June of 2002 we cruised for 4th of July on The Pacific Princess aka “The Love Boat” from NY to Bermuda for a 7 day cruise. I sailed on her too. She had the best Bermuda itinerary. All three Bermuda ports. St. George’s, Hamilton and the Dockyard.
  24. They did that with the M class and Radiance Class. Those are the same hull.
  25. Small ships are being built just not for the mainstream cruise lines. Many ports can't take larger ships. If the mainstream cruise lines won't build smaller ships some company will fill the void. Fares may be higher but so will quality.
