Are you sure you are in a full suite or in a mini suite ? I am in a full suite and if I go the MDR on the app it tells me that reserve dining cannot make reservations. I would not book a full suite if I did not intend to use the dining I am paying for
Just off the Ruby last month. MDR food was gone but menus did not have the variety we are used to. When we checked dinner menus in the morning and couldn’t find any entrees we like we would just book a specialty dining venue
Not at all I have been cruising since 1990 and I have had use of Internet cafes not too long after that. I fail to see why we should avoid technology that is available to us. Locking a cell phone in a safe makes no sense at all. My question is why do you even have one ?
On a long wet cruise it is a relief to get away from shipboard food and get something different. I cannot imagine eating every day in the same restaurant for weeks on end
If medallions were not ordered they must be picked up on the day of sailing by each individual who must also have their passports with them. In a some cruises you can substitute ID and original birth certificate for passports
When was the last time you saw a lido deck grill scraped down while cooking beef, chicken and I guess now plant based “meat”. They cook all day of that same surface nothing comes out very hot and for someone who hasn’t eaten chicken in years my hamburger did not even taste like beef
Some of the best food I have ever eaten has been on cruises off the ship. Not usually in the port area itself but with a little research you can get some remarkable meals.
you could not pay me to eat in any buffet on ship or on land
Reserve dining cannot be overridden to MDR as far as I know. Anyone can book specialty dining regardless of MDR status except for full suites where embarkation night is guaranteed and booked once you board through the dine line or concierge where available
If you take an upgrade you may end up with cabins not near each other. If that happens and you kids are young (you don’t mention ages) they may refuse to allow you make changes. If I was in a cabin next to a cabin occupied by a couple of 12 year olds I would be making inquiries at guest services
How do get messages from people at home in emergencies ? The medallion itself only opens your door and allows venues to charge you. Everything else is on the app. Don’t you get emails etc while Lon a cruise ?
How about those things you use your cell phone for on a normal day ? Checking news , sports scores , cruise critic, texting, checking credit cards etc. We only use the app once on board to check folio and current day menus. We never order food or drinks via the app. Make specialty dinner reservations though the dine line
