it may help a little if your plane seats are close to the front / exit door. Sometimes it takes a while for those seated in front of you to grab their belongings and exit the plane. If possible, I would check your seat numbers and make any changes possible.

We are Diamond & always purchase the Deluxe Beverage Package. We each average 10 to 15 drinks a day beginning w/ fresh squeezed orange juice at breakfast (we each get 2). We figure 1 specialty coffee (w/ alcohol) mid-morning, couple drinks at lunch, drinks by the pool, cocktails, drinks w/ dinner, after dinner drinks, drinks at the show, etc. This is also the time for us to try out various cocktails and beers - French Martini, Pineapple Martini, etc. without feeling obligated to finish the drink if we don't like it.

I was shocked when I contacted United yesterday to change the flight time. Even though they changed my original reservation to a time that didn't work for me - they wanted me to pay $50 per person to make a change. It took over 2 hours on the phone to finally get the flight changed without any penalty. I am still amazed. Needless to say, United will be last on my list of airlines I fly. Can anyone recommend a reliable car service - In the past I've used Carmel when we stayed in NYC with no problem but just wanted to see if there were other options.

Hi everyone & TYIA! Travel Date: June 16, 2023. Once again United Airlines has changed my "perfect" non-stop flight time of 11:30 am. We business purposes we have to be back home by 4 pm. After departing Oasis to EWR our 2 options are either 9:29 am or 10:10 am so that we can be home by 4 pm. We will be the first escorted off the ship so no concerns there. Will taxi from Liberty to EWR and do have TSA pre-check. Very seasoned travelers. I'm leaning more towards the 10:10am flight (figure I can always reschedule it we are running late and miss the flight). What are your thoughts?

Personally, unless you are celebrating a special occasion, I would skip the formal wear and just bring a fancy shirt / leggings / slacks / skirt that you can wear other times. I would also "wear" as much stuff as possible for your flight (Ie tank, short sleeve shirt, button down shirt, jacket, etc.). Unless you are using "carry on" luggage - a sure way to guarantee your luggage is onboard the ship would be to cruise Star Class. Air Tags won't guarantee your luggage is on board the ship, but it really does help to pinpoint exactly where your luggage may be and will help in recovery. We've never had our luggage lost by a cruise ship - but misdirected several times by airlines. We've put in claims several times for delayed baggage.

If you do Liberty - the day prior (or several days prior) you could do some amazing sightseeing around NYC. If you didn't want to stay in NYC (cost is a factor) you could fly into Newark and stay vicinity of Jersey City (easy public transportation to NYC). Plenty of restaurants all within walking distance. We got a great deal at the Westin - easy walk to the Metro. Will uber from airport / hotel / port / airport. We stayed in NYC previously and splurged on hotel at Times Square (very $$$) but what an amazing and very memorable trip.

For what it's worth - we use Apple Air Tags on all luggage when we travel......an added piece of mind for us. (and, I am debating whether to put one on my DH when we go big box stores - I can lose him in a blink of an eye!)

Last year (with prior coordination w/ AMEX and the car dealer), I was able to purchase a new car on my AMEX Card - which I paid off as soon as the bill came in. Love those points!!!

Hi! I was downtown Norfolk on Saturday at the Sheraton. The Posted Rate for parking was $30/day - we were charged $5 for 2.5 hours.

Air Tags work great on significant others - we always attach to something each other is wearing - makes it so easy to find each other in very large areas (Just saying). We also have them on our cars, my handbag and my tote bag!

Yeah, traffic and parking in Norfolk is really a mess. Do you use the "Waze" traffic app? If not, HIGHLY RECOMMEND you get it for your drive down here (free app)........if you never used it all I can say is "TRUST IT" when it gives you directions. I'll look around for some more hotels - have a student who works at the Main and maybe she can offer a recommendation or two for parking.

Hi! I hope another local joins in on your question. I did a quick check of hotels in the area (probably a lot I didn't check). The only hotel I found with a "5-mile radius shuttle" was the Glass Light Hotel & Gallery in Norfolk (on Granby Street I believe). Personally, I never heard of this hotel so I cannot tell you anything about it. From what I read online; this hotel does not have any on-site parking. Are you flying or driving into Norfolk? //Maria

You are correct - probably will not have the actual seat choice I picked yesterday. It is also doubtful I will have the same flight times. Hopefully, will have the seat category I paid for. This specific cruise is for a very special occasion and w/ the help of savings years of rewards points I splurged on 1st class airfare for a 90-minute flight. I know it is a gamble, but it will be 1 less thing to stress about between now and then. Even managed to snag a room at the Westin in Jersey City for a ridiculously low number of rewards points.

I am going to take do the 12:20 - more confident in that time and it means we can have a leisurely morning instead of rush rush rush. Hi everyone & thank you for helping me. Looking to purchase our airline tickets for June 2023 (Oasis). We will be among 1st off the ship (self-disembark) and will either Uber or Taxi to Newark Airport from Cape Liberty. Right now, we have 2 choices of flights - either 10:10 am or 12:20 pm. Either one would work, but an very anxious to get back home to spring the pups from the kennel. What choice would you make?
