  1. We prefer MS for the extra room and sofa, but we have to sail in accessible staterooms.  And since there are fewer MS accessible suites available, we often have to settle for balconies. We're spoiled.  Our first cruise was an inside with a lower and upper berth that was the size of a tin can and we were happy.  We didn't know any better.  We still laugh at asking, "do you want to be on top tonight or do you want me?" 😊

  2. We are going with another couple that also have the premiere package.  We tried booking a table for four and it was going to charge our credit card $156.  We both went on separately and requested a table for two and no charge to the credit cards.  Once we board we will request a table for four.

    Emerald:  Oct 2025

    Crown:  Oct 2025

    Sapphire:  Apr 2026

    Ruby:  Oct 2026

Diamond:  Feb 2027 (just did one in Feb)

these dates can vary about a month earlier, but not generally later

Thanks for the information.  Looks like the Sapphire Princess will go into drydock Sept 20, 2025 after its last Alaska cruise of the season ending in Vancouver and resume service on Oct. 11, 2025.  Is three weeks the normal amount of time for drydock and where does it drydock?  We have a 27 day cruise booked for August on her. Baltic cruise for 12 and then TA to Boston for 15.

I just received an email from Princess. How hard was this?

    Dear Valued Princess Guest:

We wanted to inform you of a change regarding our main dining reservations. Due to an unanticipated delay in finalizing our app update, the ability to book reservations has been delayed. The new date for reservations is now set for July 1.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and patience.

As previously announced, starting with voyages departing September 14, 2024, Princess will designate separate dining rooms aboard every ship in the fleet to three table service options:

    • Traditional dining offering an early and a late seating every evening
    • Reservable dining times
    • Open seating to support walk-ins anytime

Once updates are complete, you will be able to use the app ahead of your voyage to opt for traditional seating in a dedicated dining room with the same waiter, same table and same time each night, or flexible dining, allowing you to enjoy dinner at any available time and table size of your choosing in either the Reservable or Open Seating dining rooms.

Thank you for your continued support.

Must be the same people that were overseeing the Sun Princess build. 😀

I didn’t know Billy Joel worked in cruise lines

Yes!  9:00 on Saturdays when the usual crowd shuffles in.  They sit at the bar and put bread in his jar, and ask, man what are you doing here?  🤪

June 17th has 24 hours. Still plenty of time to be within the announcement. Perhaps Princess gets some sort of sadistic joy out of watching all the childish people complain that it didn't start at midnight,

They are also on the west coast.  We will stay up to 2am here in Dallas to see if it is operational! 🤣

In the future it will either be resolved or it will not. If there is no expectation of future resolution then Kotor will not be in future schedules when they are released for 26/27.

They must figure that it will be resolved.  They have Kotor still listed for 2025 and 2026.

    Hi All,

First of all I realize that no one can decide for me, just after your thoughts. This will be my first trip to Europe. I would like to cruise on the Sun Princess. Looking to do 14 nights but there are 3 x 7 nights segments. Just after some advice which 2 segments you would recommend for a first time trip to the region.

    Thanks in advance.

    The segments are,

    Barcelona depart 5.00pm

    Sea day

    Gibraltar 7.00am-4.00pm

    Sea day

    Marseille 8.00am-6.00pm

    Genoa 8.00am-8.00pm

    La Spezia 7.00am-7.00pm

    Rome arrive 6.00am

    Rome depart 6.00pm

    Naples 7.00am-7.00pm

    Sea day

    Crete 8.00am-6.00pm

    Sea day

    Ephesus 7.00am-6.00pm

    Mykonos 7.00am-9.00pm

    Athens arrive 6.00am

    Athens depart 7.00pm

    Santorini 7.00am-7.00pm

    Sea day

    Kotor 7.00am-5.00pm

    Corfu 7.00am-4.00pm

    Messina 7.00am-4.00pm

    Sea day

    Barcelona arrive 6.00am

First and second.  If the cruise was actually stopping in Kotor, which it won't, I would have a different take.  The cruise will stop in Bari instead and not nearly as exciting.

I booked an Alaska cruise for September 2025, but cancelled later in the day when I discovered that the price went up $200 and on board credit was $200. Price was $200 less, the day before.  Very deceptive and clearly not a SALE.

It's like Walmart Roll Back Pricing.  An item that was $17.99 they raise the price to $19.99, then later Roll Back the price to $18.99 and call it a sale.

Changes are starting to be made in the App.

July, Aug sailings have either the Kotor port removed entirely or has been replaced with Bar.
Website is not fully updated yet.  7 day itineraries show Kotor.  But the 14 and 21 day itineraries show Bar for the same dates.

With that, now it's pretty much clear that what was said by the Princess Port Agent in that region a few months ago is going to happen.  Sun Princess will be at Bar for the rest of this summer.

    Yep!

  11. We will be on the Regal Princess in November doing 7 nights out of Galveston and have a couple of questions regarding the cabanas at the retreat pool.  We are pool people but need shade.  How much are the cabanas per day and can they be reserved in advance?  Also, do they provide enough shade?

In thinking about it more, with the Kotor to Bar change, Princess SHOULD BE PROVIDING FREE BUS TRANSFERS TO KOTOR since that was the "advertised port".....JUST SAYING!!

Good luck to you future cruisers

    Agree 100%.  Shocked they didn't.

I think for some people it’s the principle of it. As consumers we have a choice of which cruise line we choose to vacation with. When ports are missed due to weather or issues out of a cruise line’s control that’s unfortunate but understandable. However, when it’s an intentional bait and switch and a cruise line refuses to update the itinerary so that passengers won’t cancel, that’s just wrong. Many people choose specific cruises based on the advertised itinerary. While half of my group haven’t been to any of the ports on the itinerary we selected, I’ve been to over half of them already and Kotor was a big selling point. It was the port I wanted to see the most and on the specific date we will be there (my 50th birthday) so I selected this cruise for that reason. I’m not canceling for the reasons previously stated, but if this was a solo cruise I probably would have. Instead my group will be wasting 4 hours commuting round trip to spend 5ish hours in Kotor during the 11 hours we are in port. Come hell or high water, I intend to see the Blue Caves.

Having been to Kotor, I would be really disappointed if the port was swapped out.  It is spectacular.  If it was missed because of weather, as you said, that is one thing, but it looks like the Sun Princess has not made Kotor even once this season and it appears that it won't.  Yet it is still on the Princess website, and even shows excursions for Kotor.

  14. We will be arriving in Gydnia on a Sunday and it appears our ship does not offer an excursion for those that require a lift to get into and out of a bus.  We both require the use of mobility scooters.  Is Gdansk city center accessible and how to get from port to the city center?

Do the public busses have wheelchair ramps or lifts and room for two mobility scooters? and do they travel from the port to the train station?

Do the trains have wheelchair ramps or lifts?.

Are there taxis that are smaller SUV's with room for two mobility scooter?  My wife cannot bend her left leg and cannot get into a van or minibus because the steps are too high.  Same is true on larger SUV's.

Are there car rentals in Gydnia that are open on Sundays that might have small SUV's?

I know this is a lot to ask, but hoping that someone cand help.  Thanks!

    omg!  what happened next?

Turned out they were not as delightful as we thought.  On the land trip, they were opinionated, snobbish, and down right rude.  We parted ways after a few days into the trip and enjoyed the rest of the time on our own.
