They got them to the hospital which I believe their responsibility ends. A complaint that they didn’t arrange flights home I don’t understand

Me either.  That is why you get insurance!

  2. It is a scary thing when a loved one has to be transported off the ship and to a hospital. I can't imagine being airlifted. We were fortunate that we were in port at anchor in Port Vendres, France when they brought paramedics onboard to attend to my wife who was suffering from congestive heart failure.  They took her to a nearby hospital in Perpignan.  I gathered up some clothes and our passports and met the port agents at the pier.  They took me to the hospital to be with her.  She was stable by the time they got her to the hospital.  The agents stayed with me until she was checked in and made hotel arrangements for me. Then drove me to the hotel to get checked in and back to the hospital.  They even called me the next day to check on her.

I guess the same doesn't happen if you are not in port, but you would think that the cruise-line would have systems and procedures in place to offer assistance,

I have no experience with a scooter, but I assume that it is easy to navigate the area between Rådhuspladsen (Town Hall Square) and Kongens Nytorv - the streets that connect the two squares are pedestrian streets and several streets in the center are also pedestrian streets.

Possible hotels in this area are: Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, Scandic Copenhagen or The Square (just few examples).

Thank you, that is exactly what I needed.

Queen Anne docks at Oceankaj terminal 1 - it's a good distance from the city.

It is quite pleasant to visit Tivoli - especially in the evening - even if you are not interested in rides. Some good restaurants.

Transport to the centre is bus/Metro or taxi. Alternative is HoHo bus.

In Copenhagen, I can recommend a canal trip from Nyhavn - changing of the guard at noon at Amalienborg (royal castle) as well as Rosenborg Castle, also Kastellet and The Little Mermaid. Copenhagen is very walkable.

How navigable for people on mobility scooters?  We plan on staying 3-4 days pre-cruise in August and we are looking for a good central place to stay, that we can get to on our scooters.  Thanks!

  5. We will be taking a cruise from Copenhagen in August 2026 and I am already starting my research, so this is great information.  We did not get to celebrate our 50th Anniversary due to Covid, so planning this for our 55th on the Sapphire.  It is a 15 day crossing, Copenhagen to Boston and includes Scotland, Ireland, England, and Canada.

  6. A little steep for my blood.  $6938 balcony with plus.  HARD PASS!!!  They have now pulled it.  Shows every category SOLD OUT!  Went with 15 day crossing Denmark - Boston August 19th instead for $2000 balcony with plus.

7 Ports: Copenhagen, DenmarkShetland Islands (Lerwick), ScotlandStornoway, ScotlandBelfast, Northern IrelandLiverpool, EnglandCork, Ireland (Cobh - For Blarney Castle)Sydney, CanadaHalifax, CanadaBoston, Massachusetts

Besides, we already saw the total eclipse this year in Dallas.

I can see why Princess sent out the notice.  It is probably generated automatically.  It registered the gift card payment and then notified you that there was still an outstanding balance.  Princess, is in fact, doing you a favor to let you know that you still had a balance.  Otherwise, you run the risk of the cruise being canceled for $3.22

Stores do this all the time when you use a gift card.  It deducts that payment and will show you that you still have a balance to pay.  The "cashier" is the verbal written notice.  They won't let you out of the store without paying what is still considered "due".

I get it.  It was actually $3.22 on the credit card and immediately followed with two $100 gift card payments, but the same premise!

I *believe* the system is set up with some "trigger point" value where it assumes that any further payment will be the final payment. In your situation where you had $3.22 left it likely triggered an automatic message informing you of the "shortfall". It didn't know that you were coming right back in to cover it.

I figured as much since it was was the two $100 gift cards and separate CC balance, since you have to enter each individually instead of one full payment.

  9. I paid off our cruise today with two gift cards and the remaining $3.22 on a CC.  While I was entering them, I got two of these notices via email. (see below) However, they still showed on the invoices.  Once I completed entering the last gift card, I got an invoice showing it paid in full and the notice was no longer there.  Has this happened to anyone else?  Is that normal and do I need to be concerned,

THE FINAL PAYMENT RECEIVED WAS INSUFFICIENT TO COVER THE PRINCESS VACATION PROTECTION/PLATINUM VACATION PROTECTION FEE. THE PRINCESS VACATION PROTECTION/PLATINUM VACATION PROTECTION HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM THE BOOKING.

You understood me correctly.  No cheese on a charcuterie board.

Kind of reminds me of the time I ordered a tuna melt onboard.  When it came, there was no cheese on it.  When I pointed it out, the waiter said it didn't come with cheese.  I asked him, then what is the melt.  He then took it and brought it back with cold (unmelted) cheese on it.

    🤪

  11. My CPAP is an Airsense11 and I love it.  Has a small carrying case and easy to transport.  My post #29 about the desk being on the opposite wall in our Mini Suite was incorrect.  I was looking at the standard Mini.  Saw a video of our accessible Mini and was happy to see the desk is by the bed. So we will be bringing a small cruise approved extension cord.  😀

OK, this is from the horse's mouth AFTER I had already booked a B2B on Discovery LA>Vancouver>Alaska>Seattle online:

    Good Afternoon,

These back-to-back voyages violate what is called the Passenger Vessel Services Act (PVSA). PVSA prohibits ships from embarking in one US port and disembarking in a different US port. The only exception to this rule would allow passengers to be transported between two U.S. ports if the cruise itinerary includes a port call at a "distant foreign port". Distant foreign ports do not include Canada, Mexico, Central America, Bermuda and most Caribbean islands. South America and the ABC islands (Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao) do qualify as distant foreign ports.

Unfortunately Princess.com only views reservations as their own individual voyages and does not take the guest’s back-to-back voyages as a whole into consideration. However our reservation system does run reports weekly to identify reservations that would violate the PVSA and advises us to notify the guest.

We understand you’ve already opted to cancel both bookings, but still wanted to provide this insight for future reference.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused,

Thank you for posting this.  It makes sense now on why Repo or Panama Canal cruises stop have a stop in the ABC islands or South America (Columbia).

They need to abolish the PVSA  - it is outdated and serves no purpose today. I have had two trips ruined because of it.

    I totally agree!

Although it isn't foolproof, a way to get an idea of what side the bed is on in a cabin that is on the outside of the ship is to use the fire door locations on the deck plans.  The two rules are:

    1.  Bathrooms are in pairs - back to back.

    2.  Bathrooms don't back against fire walls (where the fire doors are).

So the first cabin aft of a fire wall will have the bathroom to the aft of the door.  The second cabin will have the bathroom forward of the door.  By working aft in pairs you can get a good guess as to where the bathroom is located and, therefore, where the bed is located.

There are exceptions to this, so pictures will help to confirm.

    Cheers!

Thanks!  I checked it out and our stateroom has the door on the right, which matched what we had already seen off the pictures.
