  1. Laughing.  I ordered a tuna melt one time on the menu at lunch and it arrived without cheese on it and it was cold.  I told the waiter and he said it doesn't come with cheese.  I asked then what part of the sandwich was a melt?  He brought another one back with a slice of cheese on it.  Still cold and un-melted.  I gave up and just had a tuna sandwich!  😁

No reservations needed for reserve dining, just go when you want and you will be seated.  Reserve is located in a section of one of the main dining rooms.  Not sure which one on the Regal, but I’m sure someone will chime in.

There is no place to wait until they let you in the building. It was the worst port we have ever been out of and will never sail through there again! People were in the streets & drop of areas once the sidewalks were all full. We were next to a travel agent who has traveled way more than us, and she also agreed that it was the worst she had ever seen. She said she would try to make sure her clients didn't book Galveston cruises; it was that bad. The port staff was very rude on top of it all.

Most people were stuck standing out in the sun (though there is very limited shade right next to the building). The port staff did not allow any priority for loyalty or suites.

That said, the cruise with Princess was great, and disembarkation wasn't horrible (though not the best either). It was one of the few terminals in the US where we have had to actually go through a real passport control station with CBP.

What was your sail date?  I heard the first couple of sail dates of them sailing from Galveston was a mess.

You may want to check the Gulf Coast departures page for more information.  In my experience in Galveston, the terminal does not open until just before boarding around 11AM.  When we have disembarked around 9AM we have noticed some people already in line outside the terminal. There is some covered area outside the terminal, but no place to sit except a bench inside the handicapped area. We made the mistake of arriving around 10AM once and there was a line all the way to terminal 25. We drive to the port, so we have more flexibility. We usually park around 9AM (express lot) and then walk around the Strand area until 11AM or later.

Good to know.  See you in a couple of months.

  5. Can't check in because it thinks I'm a minor and on someone else's Passage Contract.  Can't book dining reservations, because it doesn't recognize me as Platinum and it's prior to final payment.  Tried the online version cruise personalizer and when I put in the booking number, all i get is there is a problem and try again later.  Have tried chat and they say they are working on it, but it's been over a week.

  6. BBC.  Kind or similar to a Dirty Banana, except with Baileys instead of Kahlua.

The BBC is a frozen blended mixture of Baileys, banana liquor, piña colada mix, white rum, and a banana. It's served with a 'floater,' or two shots of dark rum on top.

Customer service told me Noon, but going to be there at 11am now with all this information.

Can I ask best parking garage. My first time from Galveston.

    Thanks 😊

We are doing the Express Parking Lot next to the terminal (28).  It is walk right to the terminal.  No shuttle.  Drop bags first, then park.

  8. Our sailing is at 3PM.  What time do they start letting people on the ship?  Both my wife and I are handicapped and will be parking in the Express Lot and will be riding our scooters back to the terminal.  The lot opens at 9am and the handicap spaces are first come first served.  We are also Platinum and get priority boarding.  We plan on dropping the bags first.  What time would be the best to show up.  I heard of the nightmares last year of the embarkation process.  Any other suggestions?

    TIA

  9. The app and website version are crazy.  I booked Princess Premier Unlimited on a cruise booked last week.  Trying to book SD dining and I get an error that says only Platinum and Elite can book prior to final payment.  I am Platinum.  I try to do check in and I get a message that I can't because I am a minor <18 and covered under the passage contract of an adult.  I'm 72.

    To both @reedprincess and @cruisinsince75:

Could you describe how the process went for you when you made your reservations.

We've had the original Premier package several times and had no issues or problems booking the 2 freebie SD meals.  We've always seen the charge zeroed out, as the meals were complimentary.

For our April TA, we booked it with the new Premier, and each time we've tried to make reservations in the App, a charge of $90 comes up.  In our account for that cruise, it does show us having Premier, so don't understand why we aren't able to book without them asking for payment.

When you made your reservations, was it indicated that there was a $90 charge, but when you continued, it zeroed out?  Did you both make your reservations in the App?

We've spoken to several agents at Princess, trying to have them make the bookings for us (without having to pay for them), and they've each said that they see a charge as well, and that they have to forward a ticket or work order to IT (say it ain't so!), so they can 'fix' a glitch.

But, if there's a glitch in the App, why are some able to proceed with no issues, and others aren't???  SMH in frustration! 😬

    Thanks for any insight.

We had the original Premier and used chat to upgrade to the $90 Premier.  We had already paid our cruise in full, so we now showed a balance owing for the new Premier, which I paid that in full.  Once that was completed, I was able to make the remaining reservations without charge.  We are also Platinum.

are you Platinum or Elite and is your cruise paid off?

  11. Our cruise in November on the Regal is from pier 28, which is normally the pier.  It can sometimes change to pier 25 If a Disney ship is in port on the same day.  So check both the departure date and the return date.  Ours is 28 for both and we have reserved the Express parking for the week.
