  1. As long as it fits through a standard airport sized xray machine.
  2. I am very familiar with the area. Have actually toured a couple ships at Pier 30-32, both cruise ships, and warships. Walking is still an option. Given the situation, we would probably walk to the excursion.
  3. We pack jointly...although DW does a bit of organizing. Can't remember the last time we checked two bags...its usually one checked bag, and one or two carry ons. Or, maybe one quarter of the time, carry ons only...but never for cruises.
  4. Most notably, discussed here frequently, is the deck 4 corner Neptunes have really BIG balconies.
  5. Yep, from a bar. Occasionally, in places like The Lido, there will be servers around with trays of soft drinks for sale that you can charge to your package.
  6. Book the balcony. You never know when you will see something worth being on the balcony.
  7. Definitely depends on the cruise line.
  8. $2-3 per bag...5 or better when two bags.
  9. So, you are saying you arrive at CDG from the US, before continuing on to another European airport? If so, you need to clear Passport check,, but no Customs. CDG is commonly referred as a very poor airport to connect at. 1:40 is the minimum I would consider acceptable.
  10. The gluten free set up in CO should be the same as in the regular dining room. Have you advised HAL you need gluten free menus?
  11. The port can take a small cruise ship. Mid to larger ships will tender.
  12. I would be looking on the West Coast Departures board, here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/315-west-coast-departures/ Many discussions there, as Vancouver is not in Alaska.
  13. Far better to ask this on the Carnival board, here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/133-carnival-cruise-lines/
  14. Probably better asked on the Cruise Air board, here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/77-cruise-air/ There have been some discussions about it there. The interview is very short, and usually on time if not early starting, both our initial and renewal interviews started ahead of schedule, as we were there early. Yes, absolutely try to schedule it for your departure day. Otherwise it is reported to be pretty easy to have it done as you arrive back in the US.
  15. Curious where you have seen a queen split? Seems to me its always a king being split.
  16. Welcome to Cruise Critic! There is no one magic "best" way. You just need to shop around and do your research. Keep in mind we are not allowed on Cruise Critic to name or discuss travel agents or agencies.
  17. Your luggage should go to BOS without any issue. How long the process at CDG takes will depend on crowds and number of flights. I would allow an hour, but it will probably be less.
  18. It's exceptionally rare for cruise ships to be delayed.
  19. Well, as the transport cost is the same no matter your choice, you just need to compare the costs of hotels around the airport, and those around the port.
  20. Do you have a particular cruise line in mind? If so, best to ask on the board for that cruise line. Again, the variables can be considerable. For example, on HAL, you essentially need to consume $55 of charged beverages per day to break even. Soft drinks run a little over $2 each...waters about $4 each, beers around $7-8, mixed drinks between $8 and $11, wines and champagne, $9-11. I don't know the cost of specialty coffees. So, the combos of various beverage types to get to $55 per day is numerous.
  21. Flying Athens to CDG to BOS you will not have any Customs issues until you land in BOS. You will have an exit passport check at Paris, and an additional level of security/passport check before boarding a US bound flight.
