  1. Yes MSC is Mediterranean shipping company. You can see their shipping containers everywhere. Very successful company. I have sailed on the the Splendida in the Yacht club twice and it was just lovely. The only problem is that the vessels are huge and we pretty much sequestered ourselves in the one area. I understand that this smaller ship foray into exploration longer cruises is to compete in the market.
  2. At the cdc website there are a lot of cruise lines with covid cases high enough to warrant investigation, i.e., orange. There are approximately 86 vessels with covid. The seashore is listed as orange status. The data is only current as of May 5th.
  3. Thanks for the info!!! Looks great
  4. This is clearly verboten as has been addressed elsewhere. I am surprised to see some of the postings above from silversea pax. Here is the verbiage:
  5. What you are asking is verboten.

  7. Mysty I apologize for the sidetrack. Hoping you enjoy the rest of the cruise!!!
  8. Les are you abandoning ship?
  9. Thanks for answering my question. Sounds as if some in the crowd are the thieves of joy, obstinate and uncooperative. :-((
  10. Mysty et al Can you tell us about the differences, if any, in the cruise experience today as compared with the cruise experience pre covid, other than the obvious of distancing and mask wearing etc? From some of the posts, it appears that the wearing of masks is being ignored by a good number of people aboard and that there are other inconsideracies or boorish behaviors on this cruise. I can recall seeing some unpleasant and rude behaviors on other cruises before covid, but for some reason the posts seem to indicate that what you are experiencing is different in some way… Just wondering.
  11. RUDE ALERT!!!!!! I bet they take that table in the very back by the supply closet!
  12. We had water like that today, and waterfront property at the casa. I learned we don’t have a watertight door on one side of the garage and in spite of my valiant efforts to stem the tide, with some sandbags, the water found its way inside. The newly formed lake outside the door sought to expand its tributaries, it succeeded. Fifteen inches of rain will inundate anything. This was the first storm of the hurricane season. The tempest was named Agatha when it was in the Pacific and then once it crossed the isthmus into the Gulf of Mexico, it was to become Alex. The transformation is still yet to happen and is predicted to occur sometime after the storm reaches the Atlantic. It takes a lot of energy to become a totally new gender.
  13. Thanks dbox. i was concerned about the shower as my DH has an issue with his foot, but i understand there is also a place to sit in the shower. The forward location looks quite amazing.
  14. Yikes. I do not have this info. i booked thru an agent.
  15. Thanks much! If we are lucky enough to sail we will post our impressions and photos.
  16. Dexdd I am trying to learn about the suite. If it gets the brunt of the wind, it might be tough to use the balcony! From the photos posted, the couch is at the end of the bed, which might be a bit tough for my husband who’s feet usually hang over the bed due to his height.
  17. Where would I find the amount of OBC? Is there a list somewhere? Is it by status or tier?
  18. Thanks JAGR. The last time we were aboard we did not have any OBC. From what you mentioned, I hope it may be applied to laundry services.
  19. Has anyone actually been in this suite? The configuration looks a bit strange. I have seen the other posts about the suite. Does anyone know if there is a step one must step over into the shower? Is there a grab bar? Thanks in advance.
