  1. Thanks for the reply and the information. Perhaps we can eat outside where we will not be considered as being disrespectful of others. It may be a long 2 weeks.
  2. Morpheus: a few questions, did you use the laundry services? If so what is the turn around time? i know there was a post about sun beds or the large loungers at the YC pool, but can’t seem to find it. Is there a way to reserve them, how are they allocated? Are dress Bermuda shorts permitted in the YC restaurant in the evening, with a jacket? My husband has some mobility issues and wears a brace at times which does not fit under trousers, hence my question about Bermuda shorts. thanks in advance
  3. Her Majesty gave it all, really she gave it all. She just wore out. When you see the photo of her on Tuesday, wearing her kilt and cardigan and carrying her obligatory handbag, its poignant. Her smile, her coiffed hair and perfectly pink lipstick belies the serious health issues. You can see the deep purple bruise on her hand, yet she extends her hand graciously. Amazing run, and an amazing woman. May her memory be eternal.
  4. Hmm, Morpheus, i live in south Florida and have never booked a cruise during an impending hurricane, although i have been on a cruise in stormy weather. I am one of those who board up, remove all potential missiles from the yard, fill the bathtub with water, get a lot of drinking water, beenieweenies and hunker down. In the future, as i am now in my dotage, I will have to consider the other evacuation option.
  5. Thanks much. The scenario I am looking at is the Caribbean. Many islands in close proximity.
  6. Maybe a silly question, but I cant find a definitive answer. What happens to a cruise that is scheduled to embark to the Caribbean as a tropical storm or hurricane is approaching? Does MSC cancel and reschedule, go in a different direction? There are a bunch of named and unnamed storms out there in hurricane alley…
  7. Thanks all for the responses. I will try and post my experiences aboard!!!
  8. Hello all: Looking for a current menu of treatments/services offered at the spa on the MSC Seashore. Hoping to learn of what is offered as well as the current prices. Also any insight about using the spa? Is there a not to be missed treatment or facility? Thanks in advance!
  9. In case anyone was wondering how a dishwasher really works...
  10. Oh yikes Mysty, were you and Myster flying on the wing? or maybe a wing and a prayer. When you stack some z’s and recover, hope to hear a general impression or specific, whatever your druthers, of the entire cruise! Welcome home.
  11. Lois Hope you are better soonest. I am just catching up with some of the threads, and was sorry to learn of your mishap.
  12. We only attended the concert in the evening. It was a lovely event, the extreme heat of the day had dissipated as had the crowds. I don't think we could have done the day tour and then returned for the concert. Ephesus is magical.
  13. Mysty I can't believe it's been two months already! Yikes. Happy packing. Thank you for your posts and lovely photos. So happy you and Myster had the opportunity to cruise once again.
  14. Maybe if he builds it they will come just like a baseball field
  15. Actually, they did not. I have no idea why. Maybe their wives decided they did not want to go!!! The Two Brothers instead sailed back and forth between Bermuda and Massachusetts, bringing lumber to Bermuda, and taking rum home. Alfred was my grandfather and Adolf was my grand uncle. I think there is a bit of “spinning of a yarn” as told by the brothers to the reporter in the newspaper article, but it apparently made good copy.
  16. Some color about Visby and my relatives, with the permission of Mysty of course:
  17. I admire all of those who can plan, pack lightly and coordinate!!!!
  18. I always bring softener sheets in my luggage to keep clothes smelling fresh, then I put them in the drawers in the suite as a sachet of sorts. Before we had free laundry I used them in the dryer. Occasionally I still use them aboard when I want to remove some wrinkles in clothes without butler assistance.
  19. In late May a few years ago, it snowed and was quite cold. the picture just below is walking to the walrus haul out.
