  1. @jpalbny Call me a CC dummy but I have no idea how to get to the Le Bellot post you referred to about your dining experience. Please anyone enlighten me how to search for it. I also tried to copy and paste information about electrical plugs but CC must not allow it because while I could copy the information, I could not transfer that information to an email that I wanted to share with friends. I guess I am a slow learner to the ins and outs of CC. Mauibabes
  2. We are scheduled on a Great Lakes trip on Le Bellot with Tauck in September and it will be our first Ponant cruise. I would have a few questions. What can we expect regarding the dining options? What kind of electrical plugs and number of plugs are in the Prestige staterooms (voltage) and what kind of adapters are necessary to bring along for a French ship? What are the bathroom and shower sizes like? What pieces of information can a Ponant veteran cruiser share with a newby? Thanks in advance, Mauibabes
  3. Yes and just ask if you do not see it because it should be on the tray with your water bottles and ice bucket. They will probably be giving you a bottle of wine as well. Mauibabes
  4. Flatbush, yes, it is Lincoln in a Del Webb community and our demographic has mastered the art of B and M. Thanks for that little reminder about B&M and CC postings. Mauibabes
  5. $23 a day pp will be charged to your account and if you are very well treated, I am sure your Butler and Stewards would welcome anything extra you might like to give them. Mauibabes
  6. Of Course, for consumption in your stateroom. Wine brought to a restaurant will require a Corkage Fee of $25. We have a golden goose here so let’s hope folks don’t try to abuse this policy. Mauibabes
  7. Gee, all I was doing was laying out a chain to follow. When the Housekeeping Supervisor was made aware of the issue, she had the authority to deliver a new safe, which I think was Excellent Customer Service. Oops, Bold got stuck on, not making any negative statement by its use. My experience with O has always been positive, even when we have had some less than desireable situations arise. 👍🙏🤞 It is easier to be positive. 🤪 Mauibabes
  8. Call Oceania reservations or your travel agent and request the current price list. While the 3, 20 item bags for washing is great, the clothes come back folded so you may have to do a little pressing on some types of garments. Since Riviera will have 3 washers and dryers on every floor and they are free to use including soap, I do my husband duty (my wife is on vacation) and do our own laundry. Just take your own dryer sheets. Besides, it’s a great way to meet people and learn what is going on on board. Almost as good a source as the “Stitch and ***** “ sessions at Needlepoint up in Horizons on sea days. Enjoy your cruise, Riviera is great and you will enjoy your PH and your walk in closet. Ciao, Mauibabes
  9. You can mention your desire to the Reservations staff on their 800 number but perhaps calling Special Services can get your name removed from the mailing lists. It is quite a joke among our friends because there are many. When I get too many, I drop some off for the waiting room of my Financial Advisor or Dentist or our local Optical Shop or …. You are correct though, it can be a little OVERKILL on O’s part. Mauibabes
  10. Sure, as Nike says, Just Do It we travel with friends who have a full case wine suitcase so we can be prepared to enjoy the finest cuisine at sea. Mauibabes
  11. Just talking about the safe issue. We have had situations when the battery died and we had maintenance come and replace them and all was good to go. We also had a safe with a damaged keypad so you could not key numbers correctly. We advised the room steward and maintenance came and could not fix it. We then advised Reception and had a knock at the door and it was the Housekeeping Supervisor and we recounted the issue. She looked at it and while she waited there with us, up the hall came a maintenance man carrying a new safe. Yes, they normally have some back up stock. Guests can be pretty rough on those keypads. The moral of the story, ASK and if the answer is not the one you want, ASK AGAIN to speak to the Supervisor. If not satisfied, the Food and Beverage Director is next up in the food chain. Next up, the General Manager. Next up, the Final Guest Survey that goes directly to Miami. No one likes negative press so if it is possible to fix, they will Ciao, Mauibabes
  12. The menus and recipes are in the O computer and are quite exacting. If a Chef in a Specialty restaurant puts out a “Special” for the evening like in Toscana and Jacques, it is still the O approved recipe. We have had some of those “specials” in Toscana, be it on an O or R ship, and they have been absolutely amazing. Since Sirena offers Red Ginger and all the wonderful dishes, that is different than any other R ship. We see the Miso Glazed Sea Bass in the GDR on R ships just to let you know what you are missing so Book Marina and Riviera. With Tuscan Steak on Sirena, they have included many Polo and Toscana dishes but not ALL of those served on Marina and Riviera. Every Chef does seem to add his flair or slight twist with approval by the Executive Chef, IMHO. The quality of the ingredients is not compromised but I am sure if a chef goes shopping and “picks up a few FRESH things” for a special meal, I am sure the taste can differ but my experience is it has always been for the better. Just ENJOY THE O experience. Mauibabes
