We don't focus on the free breakfast. Important to us is the availability of a varied and quality meal. That said, the total cost of the stay plus breakfast is a consideration.

Probably a good idea. But the local police have issued a curfew which may help a bit. Have to say the crowd appears larger than prepandemic and that may calm down in future years.

We use O offered insurance. Excellent experience when I had surgery one week before trip and had to cancel. Insurance payment (minus cost of insurance) was prompt.

I wouldn’t drive approximately five hours on Interstate 95 on embarkation day. You would have to get up very early to pad some extra time into your trip. Leave the day before, find a place to stay overnight in South Florida and have a nice dinner. Wake up the next morning at a reasonable time and get ready for your cruise vacation to begin.
Totally agree ... better to position closer to the ship.

Based on reviews in TripAdvisor, we would stay there.

You are posing a number of questions and I’ll comment regarding the airport which seems to be the key to your plans. Determine the time the NCL bus is scheduled to leave LGA and work around that.
My assessment is that some of the hotels relatively close to the airport might offer transport. But hotels in Manhattan (where your group probably would want to stay) may not offer such transport. That leaves use of taxis or Uber.
It is all doable but a bit complex. Good voyage.

I believe the answer varies according to individual preferences. Both locations have positives. We prefer the Intercontinental and enjoy a bay view room so we can look out at the ship in the AM.

Checking TripAdvisor, there seems to be quite a number of negative reviews. (13%)

Good questions. In short, the ship wants all passengers off as soon as possible to make ready for the next guests. I suggest you all travel to the airport and enjoy the possibilities there.

Intercontinental Miami- excellent and a <$10 taxi ride to the nearby Port of Miami.
We stay at the Intercontinental….. always pleased.

Normally, that would probably be the case. However, the weekend we are there, there will also be 150,000 people attending a music festival at Bayside.
Given the presence of the music festival. best to check with the hotel for their recommendations.

Absolutely, park at the port
Best suggestion. Can't beat the convenience and safety.

Being near the cruise terminal is nice for debarkation day, not as nice for touring Boston. Check a map and you'll see how far the cruise terminal is from any of the attractions, like Faneuil Hall, the Freedom Trail, etc
Agree++

Unless one is attending the festival, best to schedule another time in Miami

Agree with Hawaiidan .... best to get some rest after your flight.

We always stay at the Intercontinental…. Great location and options for dinning.

They have good reviews.
-
Suggest checking TripAdvisor .... some great reviews and some not so.

Perhaps best to call the hotel for both questions.

Clearly I vote for staying at an airport hotel. No comparison to trying to sleep in public space.

Meanwhile...back to the west is Taiwan and China festering...
Agreed .... perhaps the best time to keep relatively close to home when cruising

Crew members were always assisted us entering and exiting. But, not sure I would do it again. As I get older I try to avoid risk prone activities.

Try calling the Italian embassy for input.
