panoramic ocean view cabin on the vision

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone has been in an ocean view cabin with panoramic windows on the Vision? It's category F. Pls post any pictures if you have any. There is no stateroom image available on the website so I can't picture how it looks like. Thanks! :)

This is from Grandeur, but should be similar to Vision:

Here goes a stupid question. We have the same type room on the Vision for our European cruise next Spring.

Is the view in your photo the actual water through a window, or, is it like a fake background photo. When we booked the room, the RCCL customer service rep. Was hard to understand.

Thanks for the help.

Here's another photo from Grandeur that shows the water better:

Thank you for posting the pictures, Bob. We are thinking of a med cruise in the spring/summer of 2017 and would consider one of these cabins if the itinerary we want (R/T out of Barcelona - Greek Isles) is still being done on a Vision Class ship.:)

Another thank-you for posting the photo. The cabin looks much better than I had anticipated. That longer and wider view sure gives the impression that the room is larger than it probably is.

  • 2 months later...

We were just in 7584 on Vision. It was actually quite relatively spacious and nice.

It *had a fridge*. The fridge was built in to the cabinet, where the fridge door opened when you opened the cabinet door. Since cooler boxes (or fridges) aren't said to be in Vision staterooms unless you're Junior Suite or higher, this was most excellent. If it hadn't been built in I would have thought it was put in there based on my request for special things (stuff for CPAP, sharps container, and cooler b/c of a medication DH takes). Also, they never brought a sharps container at all. So I think it's actually truly in the rooms, not just put in ours.

Only problem with the room was that there was absolutely NO shampoo or soap (not even a dispenser on the wall), but we bring our own anyway so that wasn't an issue.

If you look at a side view of the ship, look at the middle where there's a big rectangle of glass. That's where they put the rooms.

I have to upload photos to the computer and then if I can figure out how to post them here I might do that.

That's good news about the fridge! Is the sofa a double bed or is there a drop down bed above it?

We were on Allure last week and also needed a sharps container which our room attendant brought for us.

Also, we don't care for the dispenser all-in-one stuff and don't bring our own - no worries through, our attendants have always kept us stocked with the small containers of shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and lotion!

For the room we were in, there was only the bed and the sofabed.

It could have been pulled out into a double-type of bed, but since we only have the one kidlet the room attendant asked if he could just make it into a single so we had space. That was fine with us. He put the couch-back pillows in a vertical stack behind the curtain.

The one oddity we noticed with Royal is that they don't put the sofabed back each day. it bugs us. Disney puts everything all away for the day for you, then pulls it all back out each night. That's lovely. With Royal, that sofabed is out the whole cruise; same in 1700 on Freedom in January. We've never asked them to put it all away, it doesn't bother us THAT much, but it's a "hmm" situation.

Our attendant gave us nothing in terms of toiletries. Nada. He could probably see that we had brought our own and maybe that's why.

On Allure last week, the girls' sofa bed was put away every day. Thank goodness! There was absolutely NO space in that room with it out! Can you imagine four girls trying to get dressed up for dinner with no space?!

As for the toiletries, word has it that on most ships they are not provided unless you ask. We make a point of asking. :)

Thanks for all the great pics' date=' mollyellis! I'll be in this exact same room in January 2016. Can you comment on the convenience of the room's location, and if you could hear noise coming from the Centrum while in the room?

When things ramped up in the evenings, like the disco party they had, you could hear it. But they never had those parties for very long; I think the disco party was something like 20 minutes and then they moved it elsewhere.

The location was convenient for the elevators and stairs; would have been more so if we had ever figured out turning left instead of right (I think I'm remembering that correctly) out of the doorway LOL. DS kept going the wrong way and we kept following him, then we'd all have to do a u-turn.

It was nice to be able to pop out and peer down, to see what was going on in the centrum. DS dances and they had activities that he was thinking he was interested in, so it was nice to pop out to find out, for example, what they were line dancing to, to see if he wanted to rush downstairs and take part in it. (he was holding out for Achey Breaky Heart, as he has never really heard it, thinks it's funny, and used to like Miley Cyrus, but, alas, they were dancing to Holiday) Also useful for taking pictures.

The night of the aerial show it would have been great to be up there during the show. But we didn't, we watched from 4.:p

The main issue of being off the centrum...and this is for me and my lungs and nose, AND it's due to our icky weather for about 1.5 days causing everyone to stay indoors...was when the smoke was coming out of the casino, into the centrum, and then moving up towards the ceiling. Although it never "got into" our room, the hallway right there got a bit thick for me and my touchy lungs.

But I'm not saying it's a *problem*. It was an occurrence that I had problems with, but others might not. Heck, even the music wasn't a problem for my son, who was sleeping on the pullout sofa; I just happened to be the closest to the door, and I've been an old fogey about other peoples' music since I was 17 and a freshman in college. :p

And then once it was sunny again, people went outdoors to smoke again, and it cleared up. Worth knowing about (as DH kept saying to me, yes, hot air rises) if it's something that will bother you. Don't be bothered if it won't. :D

Although the windows aren't floor to ceiling, they are lovely, and we enjoyed the view. And it was neat knowing just where our stateroom was when looking back at the ship.

Thanks for all the information on cabins we are in 8539 in February 2015. First time on RCL. Just a few questions. Is there room under bed to store suitcases? Will the empty the refit for you so you can put in your stuff? Is the a hair dryer in rooms? How is morning room service?

Thanks for the info

Sandy n Bob

There's a hair dryer in all staterooms. There is usually neough space under the beds for luggage, though you might have to lift the bed to slide the luggage under the frame.

Regarding the cooler, we usually remove the stuff ourselves and leave it in plain view so we don't get charged. The stateroom attendants don't really like to mess with that.

Hair dryer was in a drawer at the big mirror in the sleeping area.

We don't bother to empty the fridge, we just work around it. In January we asked our stateroom attendant to empty the fridge (based on suggestions here) and she said she couldn't but she would ask the people whose department it was, then it just never happened. No biggie. We had a water package, and she reminded us to just leave 3 or 4 (however many were in the fridge) big bottles of water in there at the end. Easily done.

Our bags fit fine under the bed. Our big bags, though, are rigid on the bottom and collapse at the top, so they aren't *tall*.
