Carnival Conquest Western Caribbean Review with tons of photos

We were doing self debark as usual and the time for Deck 2 said 6:30 a.m. so I set the alarm for 5:20 a.m. I took a shower and then ate some cereal and a cinnamon bun up on Lido. Conquest looked like she was the last ship to arrive and she parked between Glory and a NCL ship. I brought two cinnamon buns down to DH. We waited for an announcement. And waited and waited. Then I double checked the debarkation information sheet and it said they wouldn't be making announcements for self debark. We thought that was weird as they always had in the past. By then it was 7:30 a.m. so we decided to go up to the Lobby Deck to check it out. There was a line so we stood in in for 20 minutes until it started to move. Gary the cruise director did announce that they were getting port personnel ready and within minutes of the announcement, the line moved off the ship. One final "ding" and bye, bye Conquest.

We stood in line at immigration for about 15-20 minutes, but had no trouble with the agent. We hopped in a taxi who must have broken a land speed record and were at the rental car center within about 10 minutes.

The line at Budget wasn't long, but we had to wait for upwards of 15 minutes for them to secure a car for us, which I thought was pretty ridiculous since it didn't seem like they were busy.

We were on the road by 9:20 a.m. and arrived in Orlando about 3 hours later. It was too early to check our bags, so we ate lunch in the food court. We then waited in the airport for 4 hours. Our plane had to wait a little bit to takeoff because there was a line of planes ahead of it, but we made up time in the sky and landed safely in FREEZING COLD NH on time. I only had a sweatshirt on and was shivering as my sister pulled up to pick us up. Lol!

So, that's it. :( I will add videos and Fun Times in the next few days. Feel free to ask any questions you might have.

Great review! Thank you for taking the time to write it. Can I ask how you printed your boarding pass for SW on the ship? Did you have to pay a fee? We too are flying with SW and I was just going to have my mom check us in on Saturday, so my family and I hopefully can all sit together and I was going to print our passes at the airport...do you know if that is possible?

Thank you!:)

Great review! Thank you so much! I am doing the same sailing in March. Our of curiosity -- which nights were the elegant nights?

Elegant nights were Monday (the first Sea Day) and Friday (Roatan Day). We skipped going to the MDR on the second elegant night because I made a promise to DH that he'd only have to get dressed up once this cruise.

We went to the Internet Cafe (located in the back corner of Alfred's Bar) and did a pay as you go plan to log on to the Internet. We then checked in with Southwest and the cafe also has a printer which enabled us to print our boarding passes. I know that the Southwest site does say you can print your passes once at the airport, but I just like having everything all set before getting to the airport. So I suppose you could have your mom check in for you and then print the passes at the airport, or just do it all on the ship for a few bucks.

Great review! Thanks for posting it! :)

One quick question, can you get a Mocha Chocolate Getaway at the Lobby bar?

Thanks!

Yes, you can. I didn't get one there this cruise, but I'm pretty sure they can make all the icy drinks there. Same goes for the casino bar which is where I ended up getting a couple of my mocha chocolate getaways because once when I ordered it in the Degas Lounge during the comedy show, it was so strong it tasted gross and nothing like a mocha chocolate getaway. I got my other MCG at the aft bar near the adult pool. The bars that don't make MCG are, I'm assuming, EA Sports Bar, Alchemy Bar, Red Frog Rum Bar and Blue Iguana Tequila Bar.
