sugarpink Posted October 7, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 7, 2017 Does anyone know of a travel agency that includes insurance when you book a cruise with them? I thought there were a few, but I can't find any. Thank you!
thinfool Posted October 7, 2017 #2 Share Posted October 7, 2017 Any travel agency will include the price of insurance with their quote if you tell them that is what you want. More likely is a quote with a basic price and then an additional amount for insurance. Cruise line insurance is typically 8% (approx) of the cruise fare. klfrodo Posted October 8, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 8, 2017 I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that 1. If the insurance is "free", the coverage is going to be equal to what you paid. 2. If the insurance is "comped", but included in the base cost of the cruise,,,, see item 1. 3. Nothing is free Off topic. I really enjoy those comped drinks in the casino after I dropped $50 in the slots. $8 comped drink for $50 play??? And I keep falling for it :halo:
Rare Hlitner Posted October 9, 2017 #4 Share Posted October 9, 2017 Quite a few decent cruise agencies will offer perks (i.e. On board credits, pre paid gratuities, etc) that equal 7-10% of the cruise fare. Some agencies might offer some kind of travel insurance....in lieu of those other perks...but the end result is your perks will be in that 7-10% range. Those who book directly with cruise lines are willingly paying 7-10% more....for their own reasons (which we have never understood). We have booked more then 100 cruises (for ourselves) over the years and only one was booked directly with a cruise line (because they had an amazing last minute deal). Rare Keith1010 Posted October 15, 2017 #5 Share Posted October 15, 2017 I know that many TA's push a particular company. Like most things the devil is in the details so to me you have to read all of the details to see if the policy makes good sense for you.
