Lorianna Posted October 25, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 25, 2006 I have a friend who always looks for a celebrity look-alike so he can tell everyone that so and so is on board....it is hilarious. Has anyone really seen a celebrity on a cruise?

smrn Posted November 21, 2006 #7 Share Posted November 21, 2006 I have never seen a celebrity on a ship, but we saw Mahamad Ali at the peer at Paradise Island. He was very nice and posed with kids for pictures. He was very pleasant.

swoosh2005 Posted December 4, 2006 #9 Share Posted December 4, 2006 NCL used to have "Sports Afloat" cruises, in fact our 1st cruise was an NFL cruise with active, retired players and sportscasters and referees. My DH and DS were in heaven! The following year we took the MLB cruise and were again right there with many of the top stars of baseball.
barbarah33 Posted December 4, 2006 #10 Share Posted December 4, 2006 On Celebrity I have sailed with Regis and Joy Philbin and, on a different Celebrity Cruise, Barbara Mandrel's sister - I forget her name. They were all very friendly and after the first day and a half or so people seemed to get used to seeing them around and stopped bothering them. Regis and Ms. Mandrel also performed in the show lounge one night of the cruise.
kakalina Posted December 7, 2006 #11 Share Posted December 7, 2006 On the Zaandam two weeks ago we sailed with David Crosby. He got recognized in Maui while getting on the tender, it was cool.
fastrock Posted December 7, 2006 #12 Share Posted December 7, 2006 On our last cruise, I was Steve several times. When I googled him, it stated he was 50 or 51, looked much younger tho.
MonaCK Posted December 14, 2006 #13 Share Posted December 14, 2006 I once cruised with Sammy Davis Jr's sister - if that counts. She was a lovely woman, and my Mom and I got along with her pretty well. My dad, since he began to shave his head, looks slightly like Jesse Ventura, and while in the casino one night on a cruise, one of their fellow passangers insisted that my Dad was him. TicTac#2 Posted January 7, 2007 #14 Share Posted January 7, 2007 I was on deck on a cruise and the guy standing next to me was David Brenner (he was aboard for the week as part of the entertainment) I have also cruised with the music group Styx, REOlds Speedwagan, and Jurney. I, too, sailed on a NCL Sports Afloat cruise - an MLB cruise aboard the Norway. Went with a girlfriend and much to our suprise many then-current pro baseball players (including a few NY Yankees - who had just won, I think, the World Series) were aboard as well as many seasoned retirees. Can't remember the names now, but Roy Campenilla (sp) comes to mind. On our up coming Costa Med trip, the Ronan Tynan will be traveling with our Cruise of the Irish All Stars. RT was one of the original Irish Tenors and may be known to most due to his singing God Bless America at Yankee Stadium. :D
rebeljohn Posted January 10, 2007 #16 Share Posted January 10, 2007 If i was on the Fascination a few weeks ago i would have seen Hulk Hogan:D Funny that you mention Hulk Hogan. On a Horizon cruise a couple of years ago, a man on the ship looked like Hulk Hogan. All the kids on the ship thought it was him, even when he said he wasn't. I had him pose with my wife..........http://travel.webshots.com/photo/1134323942041895530ecMqZw

angeljt Posted January 17, 2007 #18 Share Posted January 17, 2007 I stood in line next to Jerry Van Dyke when we docked at an island on RCCL many years ago. He was performing on the ship at the time, and was very pleasant to talk with.
jamiesducks Posted January 17, 2007 #19 Share Posted January 17, 2007 On our first cruise we saw Danny Pintauro who played the son on Who's the boss. He and another guy were near us in the dinning room at their own table. He looked much like he did last time I saw him on "Where are they now". klct39lg Posted January 24, 2007 #21 Share Posted January 24, 2007 We were on a 3 day cruise a few years ago and also aboard were: -former Pres. George Bush and former First Lady Barbara Bush -Neil and Jeb Bush with members of their families -and the twins Jenna and Barbara Bush It was strange...I kind of forgot they were aboard...then I would see one or more of them (always with a secret service agent or 2 around). Couldn't really believe my eyes. There was always a coast guard ship visible as well as a (blackhawk) helicopter.
