Itinerary change

We are sailing on the Adventure of the Seas. They have changed our itinerary from St. Martin to St. Croix. Will there be shops open? Will we be able to catch a taxi easily? Also, what would be the most effective way to get to Christiansted? Thanks!

As you know these islands have just come through a major hurricane but st croix did not sustain damage. Our beaches did take a hit, but by mid October they will be a beautiful as they were. So please don't judge the beach by what you see on Sunday. STX has scrambled to be prepared to greet you in full Caribbean style, and stores and activities and businesses will be waiting to host you. Taxis from Fredericksted to Christiansted are the easiest way. And stores in Christiansted will be open from 10 - 2pm, Frederiksted will be all day. Have a wonderful visit.

We rented a car and drove to Christiansted. There is a Budget rental car office across the street from the pier. They move in island time so be patient. We also drove to Point Udall, the easternmost point in the U.S Beautiful scenery.

St. Croix is beautiful! Look forward to having a port stop there! (y) :)

We will be in St. Croix in Dec ! We think ? Celebrity is on a week by week watch right now. They took a pretty good hit a couple of weeks ago. The dock had some damage and much as the island spots took a good hit. St. Croix is a lay back type island with nice beaches. Not a hole lot of tours to do right now. The beach spots have a lot of damage. The town is small with not a great amount of shopping. When ships come in they usually set up vendors in the park next to the dock. To give you a idea they had 10 ships the whole last year of 2016 . We plan to walk around town and go the beach 2 miles down for a beach day just to relax. Have a good time ! Bob
