yags Posted March 2, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 2, 2017 We are going on the 3-25-17 sailing of the Crown Princess leaving Port Everglades. Can someone tell me what happens when we first get there with regards to luggage? Thanks.
fishywood Posted March 2, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 2, 2017 Are you driving your own vehicle and then parking? Or by taxi? Or Princess transfer? In most cases you will drive right up to the curb outside the entrance to the terminal where there will be a platoon of porters ready to take your luggage--and a tip. Depending on how you arrive (if by car) you would drive up to the porters and give them your luggage. The other piers they have luggage carts. Walk to the front of the terminal and get in line or enter the terminal with your boarding pass/ID. They start taking luggage around 9:30 am. easyboy Posted March 2, 2017 #4 Share Posted March 2, 2017 There is an unloading area where porters are waiting to load on their cart. We give a tip like we do to a porter in the airport. We then proceed to check-in area.

OCruisers Posted March 2, 2017 #6 Share Posted March 2, 2017 We will be arriving by Hotel van. I imagine they will take us to the porter area? Yes. you're right! The van will take you to the area to drop off your luggage to be taken to the ship. Then, all you have to do is walk across the street with your carryons to get in the line to board the ship. Easy! :D

seafish Posted March 3, 2017 #8 Share Posted March 3, 2017 Getting from hotel to PEV easy - porter luggage handling (with nice tip) easy - walking over to the Princess embarkation area no problem - but that is then what (again) turns into a total disorganized people maze of confusion as to which line is which (priority?) all passengers being told to go all the way back to the end of the what seems to be a single mass line of humanity despite closed-off building entry signage for priority/non-priority passengers - until the people-in-charge - finally decide it's time to make two-separate lines to the right & left for category boarding. Much confusion & lots of the same "which-line-is-which" questions from many that could be easily be resolved with some simple clearly marked roped-off & category boarding signage. This has been an on-going problem at PEV Terminal 2 for years - just not a fun way to start a cruise - but doubt anything at PEV will change. LeeW Posted March 3, 2017 #9 Share Posted March 3, 2017 We will be arriving by Hotel van. I imagine they will take us to the porter area? The dropoff for Pier 2 is in the bottom floor of the parking garage adjacent to the terminal. Porters will have hands out for tips. Terminal will have two lines, both entering on door at SW corner of building. Line next to the wall usually general entry, line to the right for suites/priority. There will be signs and agents directing you. Make sure you keep your ID with you, not in the checked bags!
