Cell Phone Service in St Thomas???

Just wondering if anyone can comment on their ability to their access the web via their cell phones through US carriers like AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, etc? I have read that they are actively working on getting all services up and running but hoping to get an update from recent visitors.

AT&T most reliable and has data, but calls are sometimes dropping or not going through.

Verizon worked fine in December

Is it most reliable downtown? We are cruising in on the Crown...usually into Crown Bay but this time WICO. So, a quick walk into downtown if it's better.

May be better at Havensight than town. Text works better than calls no matter which provider.

We had a lot of trouble getting data in December. Talked to one construction worker (who lives on a ship docked in Crown Bay) who told me the cell service has been very hit/miss. They are still working on repairing some of the communication infrastructure. But we would assume it is getting better..day by day. We had no problem calling back to the states. Our provider is T-Mobile but we heard similar complaints from another cruiser who had Verizon.

We have used ATT and that worked well but that was before the hurricane.
