impartfish Posted January 11, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 11, 2018 1. Will Azamara add more shore excursions? So far, Azamara only has shore excursions for 5 out of 7 of our ports. For some of those ports, they only give 3 options. It's been like this for months without any change at all. 2. Can we charge against our OB account in the casino? We need to use up a couple hundred dollars still even after buying shore excursions. Is this possible? 3. Will tour prices be higher onboard? If we pay for our tours now, then cancel and re-book once onboard, will the tour prices have gone up a lot? If so, how much on average? Thank you in advance for the help. Many times they do add more as you get within a few months. That being said, it looks like your cruise is to the Med. So many people book private excursions in the Med that it may be that Azamara has found it's not worth it to add lots of options. 2. Can we charge against our OB account in the casino? We need to use up a couple hundred dollars still even after buying shore excursions. Is this possible? No - you cannot use your OBC in the casino. 3. Will tour prices be higher onboard? If we pay for our tours now, then cancel and re-book once onboard, will the tour prices have gone up a lot? If so, how much on average? I have never seen tour prices be higher onboard. We generally do not book ship's tours as we like to do private tours. However, when we have booked them prior to the cruise we have not seen them priced higher once we board. You do run the risk of an excursion selling out before boarding if you don't book it beforehand. Thank you in advance for the help. Have a great cruise. impartfish Posted January 11, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted January 11, 2018 Thanks so much. It is about 8 months out, so maybe it's just too soon. What a disappointment about not being able to use OBC in the casino! We usually prefer independent tours also but have to use up this OBC.
Grandma Cruising Posted January 11, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 11, 2018 Thanks so much. It is about 8 months out, so maybe it's just too soon. What a disappointment about not being able to use OBC in the casino! We usually prefer independent tours also but have to use up this OBC. There are other ways of using it up. If you’re not in a suite, you could use it in the speciality restaurants, or buying the ‘Chef’s Table’ or the Rijstaffel (Rice-table). Rare uktog Posted January 11, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 11, 2018 I have the notes from my recent Azamara cruise I still have to type up but as I recall several tours were $10-15pp more onboardCasino won’t be there by the time you cruise from what is being reported (other than electronic slots) Depends on the ports you may have all the excursions loaded you may not. They are offering fewer in some ports. Be aware Chefs Tables are not being hosted by ships officers on many occasions. Personally I’d have two visits to a speciality over a Chefs table. Whilst some are good with nice wines the high stools are painful and the long table can limit conversation with others. Cowboy Ranger Posted January 12, 2018 #7 Share Posted January 12, 2018 Sent from my iPhone using Forums Yes, I was on the same cruise. Canceled a tour and was refunded what I paid online which was less than the price onboard.
