For the one later this month

  • Spending time pre-cruise in Barcelona
  • Watching my husband's face as he finds out I upgraded us to a GS
  • Rome
  • Winery tour in Tuscany

For the Adriatic one

  • All of the ports - the itinerary is wonderful, and will take us to several areas we wouldn't think to go on a land vacation.

for me - the shows, sunshine (we still have snow), someone cooking for me for 7 days, the sound of the ocean

for hubby - the flowrider, dessert, shows

Ooo, I forgot about listening to and watching the ocean waves. That should probably actually be #2 on my list.

The wife and I are booked on an owners suite for next cruise so our list is maybe a little different.

- Concierge service (this will come in handy for show tickets)

- Extended balcony (my wife and I love to enjoy quite time out there)

- Concierge lounge (never experienced this before but heard its great)

- Onboard ship tours (this is something i have heard sometimes is offered to suite owners)

- In Room Wet Bar :D (this will get some usage for sure)

- Room Service (always enjoy this perk, its so nice to enjoy breakfast on your balcony)

- Huge bathroom and Bath Tub (this is my wife's perk)

I am sure there are other things that will come to me at some point, but these are the ones i can think of now.

3. Watching fireworks from the Space needle.

4. Air hockey with hubs ( we get really competitive)

5. Pacific Ocean air

6. Seeing Orcas, hopefully!

I am looking forward to:

1. Mindlessly watching the sea go by - either from my balcony cabin or the pool deck.

2. Nightly entertainment; every night is date night - dinner, show, and night cap in a bar.

3. Visiting a few foreign ports.

4. Meeting my new roll call friends.

5. Not getting off of the ship on turn-around day - we are doing a B2B.

The two things I really love about cruising are:

Not having any "to do" list for any of us for 2 weeks :)

Having LOTS of choices of things to do (including the chance to "stay out late" at clubs) without having to worry about how to get there, which train to take or where to park or how long transit is, etc All that fun is never more than 5 minutes from my bedroom :D

Seeing my 2 year-olds face when he sees a ship that big for the first time.

Spending time with my family

Relaxing and going to Yoga in the AM

Listening to the ocean and watching the sunset

Not having to think or stress about work or traffic

I could list a million and one other things but thats the top five!!

Can't wait , can't wait , can't wait!!!!!!

Our 2 year old cruised with us last summer and loved each and every minute of it...including thinking he should be up on stage all the time dancing...such a ham! Now everytime he sees cruise commercials he says "Look Mom....the big boat!" I know he remembers it!

GREAT THREAD!!!:)

  • INTRODUCING A NEW CRUISER. Like LuckyBrat, I'm looking forward to introducing my better half to cruising. This will be his first cruise and I'm anxious to see his reaction. (It's always fun reliving that "first cruise awe" through the eyes of a newbie!)
  • THE SERVICE! I'm a budget traveler. I'm a thrifty person in general. But on a cruise ship, I'm treated like royalty. I LOVE IT!
  • THE FOOD!!
  • THE 70s PARTY! I have my retro clothes picked out!
  • THAT "I'M HOME" FEELING! I haven't been able to cruise for a couple of years. I can't wait to feel that "I'm HOME" feeling when I hit the Lido Deck on embarkation day. I LOVE that feeling!!
  • THE SEA! There's nothing like waking up in the morning and seeing the ocean outside your bedroom window.
  • THE PORTS! We're doing a port-intensive, southern Caribbean itinerary.
  • A REPEAT RADIANCE CLASS EXPERIENCE! My favorite ship to date has been the Serenade. I'm looking forward to repeating that wonderful experience on Jewel.
  • BREAKFAST ON DECK: I love eating breakfast in the outdoor section of the Windjammer as the ship pulls into port. That's one of the BEST features of the Radiance Class ships!!

This is a good thread!

What am I looking forward to?

- Sheer relaxation and stress free living for 13 days!

- The sound of the waves

- Seeing the fjords of Norway and all the other wonderful vistas that we'll encounter along the way

- The excitement of not knowing if/when we'll hit rougher seas (sorry those of you that suffer seasickness, but I love it!)

- The anticipation of being allocated our balcony guarantee (I keep checking religiously... I'm hoping 49 days out will be the magic number!)

- And of course, not having to cook or clean for myself for 13 days!

OK. Now I'm even more excited for my trip!

For me:

- sleeping on the balcony

- sleeping in the solarium

- sleeping in the bed

Yes, it's nice to see piramids and Petra and to shop in Dubai, but honestly? Life is SO stressful right now that I am most looking forward to the sleeping. The Do Not Disturb sign will be put on the door, and please, let me just sleep.
