PORT ROYAL Posted November 13, 2017 #3 Share Posted November 13, 2017 Forgot to mention it is also my birthday :-) Just a thought. If you like Rhum (Rum), take a visit to the Clement Distillery, where you can purchase a small wooden barrel, and have it "engraved". Great conversation piece. PORT ROYAL Posted February 13, 2018 #7 Share Posted February 13, 2018 8-1 Sent from my iPhone using Forums Sadly you have no time to do/see much, so it pains one to suggest that you consider taking a ship's tour, because you must see some of the island. Hopefully, there will be a stop to try/buy some Rhum. Do not understand the short port time on a beautiful island.
mgf316 Posted February 23, 2018 #8 Share Posted February 23, 2018 I know it’s a revised itinerary from NY because of all the hurricanes... thanks for your help everyone - will probably just walk around the port area then head back on ship and head to the pool[emoji41] Sent from my iPhone using Forums
nicoleskr Posted February 23, 2018 #9 Share Posted February 23, 2018 We took a hiking excursion through the cruise ship (RC) and it would be in that amount of time, but then you wouldn't be able to see anything else. I'd plan on walking around the port city. It wont show you all of the beautiful things the island has to offer, but I'd hate to say go north an hour to see the black/ grey sand beaches and the city where the volcano covered part of the city in that short amount of time. I probably spent 2 hours walking around by myself (husband was tired from the day before and then the hike) just around the port. I would suggest while you're there spending the money on getting an authentic lunch before getting back on the ship. Martinique was one of our favorites, which was so unexpected because I was really sad to go there initially.
OCruisers Posted February 23, 2018 #10 Share Posted February 23, 2018 8-1 Sent from my iPhone using Forums With such an early time frame you'd probably want to consider an excursion offered by the ship. ;)
