JimAOk1945 Posted September 3, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 3, 2018 Anyone know which side of the ship is better for viewing the various shorelines throughout the cruise? We are in a suite on the port side on the Crown Princess round trip from Southampton next August. I posted this question on my roll call several weeks ago but no one has answered. :o
sddsddean Posted September 3, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 3, 2018 2 possible itineraries, but they both go clockwise round the UK, so best chance would probably be starboard side. Having said that, I would imagine they will cruise more than 16 miles off shore, in which case you will have trouble seeing the coast, except for entering/leaving port. tartanexile81 Posted September 3, 2018 #3 Share Posted September 3, 2018 the ship sails clockwise so starboard I have cruised from Invergordon to Edinburgh and you get good views through the Moray Firth. After that it will be dark so you won't see anything. You will cruise up the Firth of Forth early the next morning and will get views of Fife to the North and Edinburgh and the Lothians to the South as the river gets narrower. You then sail back the Firth so will see the opposite bank.

moatenote Posted September 11, 2018 #5 Share Posted September 11, 2018 We're doing this cruise next July and chose port side PV2 cabin. Our cruise starts in Bergen, Norway, and looking at the map of the cruise, it seemed to us that port side would have better views of land (if land is visible). Alaskanb Posted September 17, 2018 #8 Share Posted September 17, 2018 I was surprised at how much shoreline we were able to see on our British Isles cruise. The weather was glorious and the coast from Greenock on was stunning. We had a starboard cabin.

JimAOk1945 Posted September 22, 2018 Author #12 Share Posted September 22, 2018 Any idea why most of the cabins that are already book are on the port side? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Forums mobile app
