LHR to Southampton on June 29

We are going to Southampton the day before our cruise on June 30th. We arrive about 11am. Does anyone want to share a private transfer?

Have you posted to your roll call? That is where you will find fellow cruisers who might be interested in sharing a ride.

I would you suggest you check out the National (Express?) Bus to S'hamton .It is an easy ride and much cheaper than a private vehicle. Have done it from London. Bus very nice. Our driver was wonderful. Every one on the bus must wear their seatbelts. Very different from bus rides in the US.

If you're looking at private transportation, then I'd request it now. Many of them get booked up. We used Smith's for Airports and they were great! We had an awesome driver, went out of his way, really enjoyed it! And for us, it was worth the higher cost to have the private car and get the extra service.

Fixing a rideshare from Southampton to airport is pretty straightforward, from airport to Southampton not so easy or so reliable unless the sharers are on the same aircraft - LHR has five terminals spread over about 3 miles so meeting-up is problematic. Plus if a flight is delayed it has a knock-on effect on the sharers.

Direct service to Southampton coach station, £17 per person, comfy seats, wifi at all seats.

You'll need to know your LHR terminal in order to book https://www.heathrow.com/airport-guide/which-terminal.

For T's 1,2.3 your journey starts at Heathrow central bus station, for T4 and T5 the bus picks up at the terminal.

Many hotels are in walking distance of Southampton coach station, or a taxi ride to any city centre hotel won't cost more than about £8

If you prefer a private transfer, www.smithsforairports.com currently charge around £80-£85

www.westquaycars.com or www.aquacars.co.uk probably a little more.

All are based at the Southampton end. There are also plenty of LHR-based operators, some good some not so good.
