What are your thoughts about Pacific Princess?

Our very first cruise was on the Tahitian Princess in 2003, which is the same size ship. We had nothing to compare it to and loved cruising so much we are now 25 cruises in! We met a couple on that cruise that we are still friends with, that had already done 25 cruises and they said we started with the best!

I don't remember a lot about the entertainment etc but we certainly had some memorable dining experiences with all the people we met.

We would certainly go back and try the small ship experience again. It would be interesting to compare it to our big ship experiences, now that we are seasoned cruisers! Maybe a World Cruise some day????

Just off the Pacific Princess a couple of weeks ago (canal transit after WC).

Oscar is off the ship temporarily. He'll be back. Sammi retired from Princess and they have a new CD.

It is a comfortable ship, no rush for anything. One of the things that always gets me is that the folks at the front desk get to sit. No standing for long periods.

My biggest belly-ache was the temperatures. I don't have much hair on the top of my head and it was always COLD in the dining room and Cabaret Lounge. I wanted to wear a hat due to the temperatures (even in somewhat cool Los Angeles, it was COLD).

With a ship of this size, on a longer itinerary, a passenger can (if one wishes) really get to know the crew. No rush for anything. Lots of time to make friends, you see almost everyone within the first few days.

And...if you are a reader, there is a good library. Both Princess books and lots of books in the exchange. I read. I completed 8 books on that Los Angeles to Ft. Lauderdale itinerary.

Service is extra special. I never gave a tip to someone other than a cabin steward or waiter till our cruise on the Pacific. The staff goes the extra mile.

Quite agree. Olga (from Ukraine) and others were just wonderful (Nov 2017 Adriatic).

The Pacific Princess is our favorite ship. We have a Rome - Venice scheduled for November 2018 and Southampton - Barcelona for 2019.

We always travel in the same cabin (8064) and with CC dining, can have dinner at any time. Every so often, they turn the buffet into a Bistro with an Italian menu, table service and anytime dining.

There are never any crowds. Tender ports are easy and the ship is elegant and old fashioned in a nice way.

The lack of night life is not a problem for me. If we want to see a show, we’d rather go to New York.

Because of the small number of passengers, the service people all over the ship get to know you. It’s very nice.

We just completed 17days via the Panama Canal on the PP. we are anytime dining people—so reluctantly we conformed to Traditional dining. We were seated at a table of 8 and it became the highlight of our day. We laughed and visited so much that we were always the last table to leave after dinner. The crew were friendly and helpful. The Cabaret Lounge was the main venue for shows and we sat in arm chairs in a semi-circle. Our balcony cabin was the same size as on other ships. The bedding was very comfortable. Every place was walkable. I didn’t use the elevators but they weren’t crowded. Th pool is small but seemed to have a good supply of loungers. Dancers double as craft teachers and entertainment staff—patient and friendly young people. Our room steward was fun and efficient—speaking excellent English. Probably the only negative (a very small one) was the TV. We never caught on how to navigate and find a list of shows. A movie had to be watched at only one time. But this was not why we were cruising, the entire ship seemed to be in good repair. The buffet was small and had those premade sandwiches at lunch 🙄 but it was easy to put a meal together for breakfast and lunch. ( I was able to make a fresh sandwich from ingredients available.). Lovely little ship.

Have been on this ship three times within the last year and half. Scheduled to back on again 4 July to the Baltic’s. They continue to upgrade different areas each time we are on board. :cool: Staff is beyond wonderful. Love the smaller feel. You should enjoy your experience.

We also were on the 50th Anniversary Cruise to Mexico in December 2015. We fell in love with the ship and will sail on her again in November 2018.

While the 2015 cruise was not your "normal" cruise we were impressed with the staff and the crew of this ship. We stayed in a Balcony Cabin on deck 7 which is not more than 3 decks from any public areas. We never did use the elevators due to the closeness of the public areas. One of the highlights of our cruise was the Sunday brunch which is put on only on sea days. The MDR does not serve breakfast on these days but opens at 10 AM for one of the most varied and delicious meals at sea. The choices are endless and the layout is well worth bringing a camera besides your appetite. We did feel that the Cabaret Lounge was a bit cold and would suggest a light sweater. The casino is on the small side but does have a nice bar available. The Club Bar just outside the Dining Room is convenient for a before or after dinner drink.

We are sailing this November from Venice thru the Greek Isles to Rome. With only 690 passengers getting on or off the ship is fast and easy even in tender ports. We did splurge and booked a Suite (7114) for this cruise. It will be our first suite but we feel after working for 55 years we should taste the "Good Life":')

DH, daughter and myself are booked on the November 2018 Venice to Ft. Lauderdale and are so looking forward to experiencing the Pacific Princess. After reading the posts, I am even more excited!!! We just had the most incredible journey a few weeks ago sailing from Ft. Lauderdale and on to the British Isles on the Royal and loved it all.... even the bumps don't stop us as its just all in a day's travel and the journey overall is what we cherish... but, we truly are looking to experience the intimacy of the Princess!

Enjoyed watching your videos - thanks for posting them. DH & I just booked the 2019 29-day Med/TA combined on the PP. Because it is a "skosh" more than we'd normally pay per day for our aft facing balcony cabin, we keep researching everything PP looking for a reason to cancel/change to a different ship/sailing but we can't seem to find any reason to! We have enjoyed reading all the comments on this thread.
