Is anyone recently off Golden and address the water leaks in areas and the sewer odor

I was on Golden May 26 to June 2.

Were there some random odd odors? Yes, but nowhere near my cabin or in any lounge I spent much time in.

Leaks? Probably minor ones I paid no notice to--just like you find on newer ships as well.

But one big exception: on the final afternoon there was major water all over the elevator lobby Deck 17 aft, forcing the shutdown of one of the outer lifts--thus leaving only one lift that went all the way down to the Donatello MDR and up to Skywalker's. Was still shut down disembarkation morning. And the starboard corner of Skywalker's reeked of something resembling a mix of stagnant water, dirty laundry and cigarette smoke. Fortunately they knew to set up the P/E/S cocktail hour on the opposite side.

I was on the same cruise as fishywood. There were some drips from ceiling I came across, but I didn't see tired or rusty. (Although I wasn't looking specifically for it.) As for the septic tank smell, I didn't come across that either. (I was in Skwyalkers almost every day but stuck to the port side so I guess I missed the smell on the starboard side.) Sometimes you get a whiff of something stinky on different parts of any ship. Any smell on the Golden wasn't any different than what I've occasionally experienced on my other 60 Princess cruises. I wouldn't hesitate sailing on the ship again.

I was also on the above cruise with a group of 12. None of us noticed any leaks to speak of or any bad smells. Maybe we were lucky but were fairly mobile during the cruise. There were no problems that we saw.

I was on the Golden May 26 to June 2 too. Yes, I noticed water leaks. One rainy sea day I walked several decks inside to get my steps in. I saw some buckets, some fans and an occasional wet towel spread out. It didn't really concern me since I've seen worse - I was on the Grand once with clear water pouring down the side of the walls on my stateroom deck.

Now sewer odor is different. We were on Dolphin starboard forward (deck 9) and definitely had sewage odor on our balcony several times. We reported it to the front desk and our steward more than once. Of course, by the time anyone arrived to check it out, it was gone. It would get pretty bad at times - keep the balcony door closed. They brought Frebeze once. LOL I also noticed a faint smell on Promenade deck 7, starboard forward, when I walked the deck. Anyway, I do think they have a sewage problem or some odor problem that needs to be fixed.

It was still a great cruise and I had a great time.

Just got off. First few days were quite leaky, with drips popping up in the same places. A couple in the casino, including one that kept dripping on the tables. A few on the Lido Deck, one right outside E302, but nothing horrible. There WAS an odd sewage smell - currently smelling it right now actually outside of the HC, but I don’t have a strong aversion to smells and it’ll be gone in 2 minutes. Those of us who might be more delicate in the nostrils may have an issue.

We just got off yesterday and really only saw 2 buckets for water. A couple of times in the hallway I smelled an odor, but for the most part it wasn't bad. The food and the service we thought were very good. Didn't like the Cruise Director, in fact we thought he was the worst we have experienced in many years. Was surprised that he actually announced you should not stop and listen to the captain as he is very boring. Very disrespectful.

We also just got off yesterday. Definitely leaking in various parts of the ship, but we didn’t find that to be a bother.

We did smell the sewage smell frequently—in our stateroom (Deck 9, starboard) and almost always on our balcony. We also noticed it outside on the promenade and around the theatre.

When asked, a staff member told us they discovered a problem during dry dock and it’s opened a can of worms. They’ve brought on two additional plumbing teams and are replacing all the pipes, front to back, top to bottom.

Just got off yesterday and yes there were some leaks in various parts of the ship as OP mentioned. Met a family whose room needed to be relocated due to a busted pipe. Every so often I smelled sewage but only for a couple of seconds, and mainly near public restrooms.
