JerryInIL Posted October 19, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 19, 2017 Since an overseas medical issue can be catastrophic, I was searching for medical only plans. Insuremytrip came up with AIG, IMG Patriot, and Seven Corners Liaision Intl. Thoughts on these or others? TIA
easyboy Posted October 19, 2017 #2 Share Posted October 19, 2017 You can also check tripinsurancestore. If hospitalization averseas is also a concern, you can check Medjet Assist for medical evacuation to a hospital near your home. Rare Keith1010 Posted October 19, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 19, 2017 Don't limit yourself. You can also get traditional plans but you can just insure the trip for say $100.00 and get the full medical benefits if that is what you are looking for. If you do this on insurmytrip.com you will come up with many additional options such as TravelexInsurance and TravelGuard. Keith

Looks like far more medical coverage than a Platinum comprehensive plan.

Sent from my iPad using Forums We've had great help from www.TripInsuranceStore.com in terms of finding the right policy per trip. Usually it's the same one from Travel Insured, but on a few occasions, Steve (owner) has suggested a different policy, and once, no policy at all. (Gotta love it when a vendor suggests that you do NOT need to purchase something from them!) He's also helped clarify if an unusual claim would be covered, when we inquired from overseas. Before the episode was over (multi-day), he had checked with Travel Insured, and told us precisely which "clause" of the policy would indeed cover us. We had assumed we would not have had coverage, so we are certainly glad we "asked"! We also have the annual MedJetAssist policy. That also covers us for all travel for business or to friends/family, as long as it's more than 150 miles from home, although we have the policy because of more distant trips throughout the year. KEN31VA Posted October 29, 2017 #8 Share Posted October 29, 2017 Keith has the right idea. As with anything today, you have to check the fine print. In his example, be sure that there is no requirement for the percent of the trip being insured and, as always, watch the pre-existing conditions requirement.
