It could be anywhere from the day you booked it until the day you show up at the pier.

That's right..there is no "set" time for cabin assignments.

We do many guarantees. We've had some guarantees assigned even prior to final payments and some as late as a few days prior to sail date. Once we had a bal guarantee, no assignment and a few days prior to sail date only full suites were showing. I was eventually assigned a balcony, even though none were showing as available. I guess they either upsold the higher categories and someone moved out of a balcony, or they upgraded a few folks an we got the leftover balcony.

I have never been notified per se. I eventually see an assignment on line on my reservation.
