beshears Posted March 15, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 15, 2018 We are to be in Cozumel before long. I like to try new pastries from the locals. Do you know of any bakery that is close to the port, or how would I find one?
ABQrobin Posted March 15, 2018 #2 Share Posted March 15, 2018 Chedraui is the local grocery store just north of Puerta Maya. Take a taxi there. It has a huge bakery of Mexican pastries. We always go there and get some when on the island, but they don't use preservatives so will only stay fresh for the day. photos from our vacation on Cozumel in Oct 2017. robin

Rare crewsweeper Posted March 16, 2018 #4 Share Posted March 16, 2018 Zermatt corner of Calle 4 norte and Avenida 5 You can't go wrong stopping here. Taxi drivers can get you there. If you wish to stay in g the port area or are not going to downtown, Café Punta del Cielo (Mexico's answer to Starbucks) in the Puerta Maya shopping area has some Mexican pastries. It's in the building on your right just before you get to the taxi stand/entrance.
smokinmike Posted March 16, 2018 #5 Share Posted March 16, 2018 Surcré Sale Calle 2 Norte between 5th & 10th Aves This place opened in November 2017 and is an absolute jewel. Genuine French pastry chef. Croissant, tarts - you name it along with espressos, cappuccinos, and the like. Zermatt was my go to prior discovering Sucre Sale and I like it as well - they aren't too far from each other so you could try them both! We love Chedraui, because it is easy to find, right on Rafael Melgar, the main street, and also because it is kinda an all-purpose store, has everything from food to clothing to medicine to refrigerators.
