Island tours at port

Yes..there will be many options once you are in port...including catching the bus and going on your own to the Turtle Farm...but that won't give you an island "tour"! I can't help with prices of free-lance guides, but they will be able to customize a tour to your specs.....

If you google GC tours, you will get many options....just to give you an idea.

Grand Cayman isn't an inexpensive place....EVERYTHING is pricey there!

The tour we took did not include the turtle farm but to give you an idea on prices maybe this will help.

We had no plans prearranged and after tendering in there were multiple people offering different types of trips. We took somewhat of an island tour with beach for $20 per person. Was a 8 passenger van (only 6 in it) nice cold AC. Toured small houses, big, mansions, some other places on the island with the driver describing everything in great detail and very friendly. Went to hell, went to the rum factory, shopping, then taken to 7 mile beach for a couple hours and finally back to the ship.

$20 per person for close to 6 hours was well worth it in our opinion. (Don't remember exactly how long the tour was but from tendering to port early morning around 9am and only getting back on the boat very late afternoon it was well worth it lol)

On another note we did research before the trip on Turtle Farm. Not sure if Princess cruise prices are the same as other cruise lines but we found it would be much cheaper taking the bus to the turtle farm and paying at the door.

Enjoy your trip!

A bit more that might help you.

The Turtle Farm website has different promos every now and then if booking directly.. Looking quickly seems like they have one package 20% off. (Turtle adventure tour)

Public bus from cruise ship to turtle farm if I am not mistaken is $2.50 per person. So price both out and see if it is cheaper then the cruise ship excursion.

On bus way back (another $2.50) you could get off at Royal Palms... for 7 mile beach.. It is $2 a person entry which gives you access to their facilities, food/drinks (for a fee), washrooms, changing rooms, showers, 7 mile beach and an adult only pool. Additional options for a fee for beach loungers or private cabanas.

If you do research more you will see that via public bus you can visit many places and likely much cheaper then what a cruise excursion would cost you.
