Rare TLCOhio Posted September 30, 2017 #2 Share Posted September 30, 2017 Hi, Somebody knows about the progress of the silversea cloud update ? Maybe pictures ?Best regards, jimmy YES, Jimmy, love to see and hear more as to how this updating is working and progressing. Have done four cruises on the Silver Cloud, including Norway, Amazon River, Africa, etc. Lots of great memories from being on the Cloud. THANKS! Enjoy! les37b Posted October 5, 2017 #4 Share Posted October 5, 2017 Many thanks Bill. Looking forward to seeing the final musified Cloud Expedition and hoping to view internally in the Spring.
Rare spinnaker2 Posted October 5, 2017 #5 Share Posted October 5, 2017 Thanks Bill. I tried to communicate using your technique for smoke signals, but it's way too rainy and humid where I live. I enjoyed the photos of the Cloud which also prompted me to finally look up and learn about the functionality of the bulbous bow. Apparently the ancient Greeks also used the bow adaptation on their ships. Great physics lesson today!
Bill B Posted October 5, 2017 #6 Share Posted October 5, 2017 ...and hoping to view internally in the Spring. I have to wait until March 7, 2019. I've read many 'not so great' reviews of the ship. Hopefully, that will change after this major refit.
Rare spinnaker2 Posted October 5, 2017 #7 Share Posted October 5, 2017 I really liked the cloud. She has a certain charm and quirkiness. I hope the refit won't spoil that charisma. Sent from my iPad using Forums
Bill B Posted October 5, 2017 #8 Share Posted October 5, 2017 P.S. I thought the ancient Greeks built their 'bulbous bows' for ramming other ships. Did they understand the physics of drag... thus cutting down on 'slave consumption'? ;)
Rare spinnaker2 Posted October 5, 2017 #9 Share Posted October 5, 2017 Bill, I am ancient and I am only half Greek...therefore I can neither confirm nor deny whether my predecessors knew about the physics. ;-)
